My uncle made me a beutiful gift, out of wood by hand, he finished it as well and it’s a very lovley flaweless peice, very unique….lovley! I sent him a thiank you card gushing about his skills, and flaweless workmanship….and thanking him profusley for his thoughfulness.
But then he follwed up with a letter about a month later, thanking me for my card, and then talking about how much he loves to work with wood, and he even sent photo examples of other pieces he’s completed. I was so happy to see what amazing work he has done ofcourse! But do I respond to his letter? I serously dont think I’ve ever gotten a real letter before!!! lol.

Well, first off I don’t think it’s necessary to respond at all unless he asked you questions or something.
If you wanted to, you could send him an email complimenting him on the wood-work

@fresitachulita: I think it would be nice if you wrote a short note back. Compliment his work, and share something that you do as a hobby. He is excited that you liked his hobby/work, and maybe wants to build your relationship.

I think he just wants to start a relationship with you. It’s old school but really adorable. 🙂 Write him bac. When you have something to say. Like, something cool about your new married life or the city youlive in.

Well do either you or FI/DH have a crafty hobby? I’d talk about that or equate his work to something also pretty and artistic you saw lately…..
I agree with PP’s, he wants to have a stronger relationship with you. Very sweet! =)
