Why oh why are we having such a hard time deciding on our honeymoon destination?  We've sat around on several occasions and we've come up with NADA!  lol.  We have time but what's our deal?  Guess we don't wanna make the wrong decision.

I don't have too much insight to offer on this, but I will say that the 3/3/3 plan seems like you will spend the entire time traveling.

I think it also depends on what you're looking to do -- Paris, Egypt, St. Lucia, and Costa Rica are all very very different honeymoons!

I would caution against Egypt then France.  You're going to spend a lot of time at the airports and not a lot of time on the ground.  Go somewhere to relax and do nothing.

I vote against the two trips with heavy travelling...and I picked Costa Rica b/c it does still sound like you want a bit more adventure than just a beach vacation.  We went to two different greek islands plus a day in Athens.  That was bout the max I would recommend moving around (and we were in the same country the whole time).

Valid points ladies.  I really don't want to travel a lot... but I know the future hubby wants to see Europe (he never has).  Tough stuff here.  And clearly we have varied interests which makes it harder!

I think going to Europe is fine...but you should pick a country and stick to it.  You really can't "see" all of Europe (or even a good chunk of it) in only 9 days.  Especially because traveling to Europe takes so long with the flight times and then the time changes and such.  You could easily lose at least a day depending on when you leave.

Go to just Egypt for the full trip, it is the coolest city EVER! and you can take a day trip or a 2-day trip to the beach if you're looking for that environment also....egypt is amazing!!

You guys are right, I'll keep thinking about it.  Any suggestions on where in Europe to go.  Apparenlty he's pretty open to wherever and I've been dying to go back.  Costa Rica does still sound nice cuz I've never been and it does incorporate adventure with relaxation.

Whichever you pick, just make sure you will be able to RELAX and enjoy yourselves. Some people (i.e. me) are really stressful travelers, so the multiple locations one would stress me out.

I'd say just spend 9 days in Barcelona. Hotel Arts. One of my favorite hotels ever. Stayed there for 3 weeks 2 summers ago. B-e-a-u-tiful.

I vote for Egypt, too!  I think it would be an amazing trip!  We did Europe in 2 weeks, and went to a ton of different places: France, Germany, Switzerland, London, and Luxembourg.  I don't think the travel is bad once you get over there; for us it was just a couple hours' drive in between each stop.  I would have voted for the 3 days in France, Spain, and Italy, but I didn't really like Paris very much.  :)  So, instead, I say Egypt!  And bring back lots of photos!

About 2 years ago my now fiance and I spent a little over a month in Europe (France, London, Spain, Italy) It was amazing and super fun but I think it is completely up to you in thinking about what you want to do...Europe is great but it is alot of travel and time walking and planning around what you are going to do (we cruised through various ports in Italy which was nice so that we didnt have to plan a week of meals!)

But an all inclusive idea is great to be able to sit back ,relax and have other people make you dinner, clean, and cater to what you need/want....plus there are still a million things to do at all inclusive resorts! Have fun!!!

One thing about Egypt as well-- from everyone that I've talked to that's traveled there, especially recently, it is one of the DIRTIEST places, and all have said they wouldn't recommend it to anyone. (Sucks, because I'd really love to see it...)

I choose Costa Rica (I'm partial b/c we're going there)

I wanted to go somewhere with fun things to do but could also be relaxing.  FH and I backpacked around europe for 2.5 weeks after college and spent 2-3 days in each city.  It was AMAZING but EXHAUSTING!!  Right now, I'm so stressed with the wedding that I'm glad we went with a more relaxing honeymoon.  Save your mulit-city Europe trip for a time in your life when you doni't need to de-stress from the wedding!

For European suggestions, I think we'll be going to Prague next time we visit Europe.  Everyone I've talked to said it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  Apparently, it's one of the only places that wasn't bombed in the world wars so there is so much more history/architecture still intact compared other European cities.  I've also heard it's very clean!  Plus, Prague is not on the Euro yet, so if you started booking hotel rooms and stuff immediately, you could get some really great deals.

If you choose Europe, I vote for either spending your entire time in Greece or Italy.

The Adriatic Coast of Italy is beautiful!  And I *heart* Venice (you just have to stray away from the touristy San Marco Plaza to realize what an amazing city it is).

    And Greece...well...need I really explain?

what about 8 days in Egypt?  My friends just got back from a 2 week honeymoon in Egypt and LOVED it.  You could do Cairo for a couple days, and then go somewhere on the beach to relax for a few others... then you get beach & culture & a great new location!

I know that for me I wouldn't be able to relax with so much travel so I voted for Sandles :)

They all sound great, but very different!

St.Lucia sounds like a great honeymoon!!  I'm biased though...I'm more about relaxin and doing the beach thing!  Plus I hear you get spoiled, especially all inclusive!

I picked the last one! Although Costa Rica or Jamaica would be great for me.

I don't like to travel too much during one vacation and I want to sit by a beach w9th pina coladas and be lazy. That's my idea of a honeymoon so that's why i voted =]

I said Spain, Barcelona... That sounds like a romantic trip you would take for a honeymoon. You can expeirence cuisine and culture whereas on a resort you're kind of stuck.

You can book an all inclusive resort anytime! Go for the adventure!

I travel a lot, and if I am looking for relaxation I stick to one location. Your Europe idea will be fun if you want a fast paced honeymoon. If you are looking for romance stick to one spot with a great hotel. My two favorite cities in Italy are Portofino and  Venice. Rome is nice, but not as romantic.

I'm voting France-Spain-Rome, but if you'd like to see Europe and have a little adventure, I'd vote for a trip with two destinations where you could travel between by train instead of climbing on another airplane.

For example, you could do France-Belgium. FABULOUS! I definitely recommend it. See Paris, the Louvre, Versailles, then get on a high-speed train and go to Brussells. Great food - beer, chocolate, and waffles!

Or, if you're up for a little more adventure, see Spain-Morocco. Start in the south of Spain and then hop down to the north of Morocco. I haven't been to Spain yet, but northern Morocco was absolutely beautiful. Very different culture and somewhat less developed, so it makes for a little more adventurous trip than a typical European destination.
