So as part as my new year’s resolution (get back into guitar, after a hiatus since dating bf), I’ve signed up for group guitar lessons, as well as trying to schedule skiing day trips with the bf and friends to improve my skiing abilites. Not only will my skills get better, I figure these are great distractions while waiting for the proposal to happen. I also get to do something fun with my SO. 🙂 What does everyone do to get their minds off of waiting?

I have/am some self improvement classes and some finance/budgeting classes. I been trying to start the gym but I been procrastinating. Looking into grad schools and making other future plans to travel.

When I was waiting I started working out and baking/cooking healthier foods.
It was a win/win because it took my mind off waiting and focused on myself, and then when he proposed I was 20 lbs lighter (and looked awesome!).

I’ve been cooking, crafting, and have been busy with my new job. I haven’t had much time to “wait” lately..esp with the new job!

The cooking and the eating healthier are definitely great ideas! I’d love to look my best when it does happen!

I’m on the board of directors for a non-profit that takes up as much time as I’ll let it 🙂 Been thinking about taking a cooking class. I’m also working on “nesting” as my boyfriend and I call it. I moved in with him two months ago and I’m still trying to integrate all of our stuff together in a nice, cohesive, homey way that doesn’t have all of one persons stuff stored in the basement (its a small place). I need the renovation to finish before I can finish that up though.

I’m taking a photography class. Also I hope to get on a pool and kickball league in the spring. I might also take the last two classes I need to finish up my Master’s Degree.
We are in a LDR, so my goal is to try to stay busy as much as I can to help pass the time as quickly as possible! 🙂

@playingdaisy: I second the guitar playing but it backfired on me cause now bf wants me to teach him how to play

Now that the weather is warming up, I’m running again. And buying a house. And the house hunt is so long and painful I forget about engagement for days at a time. Then when it does come up I’m sometimes too busy to think about it more than a minute or so. Blah. 🙂

Baking, cooking, going to visit family members or friends to just get my mind off it and maybe even get my FI moving (not sure if he’s waiting for me to get out of the way or not)
I’ve decided I’m going to stop thinking about it entirely esp since we have more expenses popping up now that are bothering him, spring is coming and we need to do a chimney sweep and bird/animal guard which is such a huge expense.
Still I’d rather save the animals and prevent them from dying and getting in than have a run either way, so it’s all good.
We are flexible to do the wedding this year or next year which could work in our favour if expenses build up.
Keep busy everyone and good luck!

I really think cooking and looking up new recipes helped speed things up for me. If I was online I would always want to look at the wedding stuff, but looking up recipes sort of distracted me a little bit. I’m almost done waiting (Ring shopping tomorrow eeee!), but I think I’d still like to pick up a hobby to keep me sane and give me a distraction while wedding planning when things get to be too much.
