About 2 weeks ago, I set aside a date for a little house party I was having because my parents would be gone for the evening (it was too early to send an actual invite so it was more just like a save the date and I will follow up with details closer to the date). I told all my friends about it and they were all excited and all agreed to come. Now a couple weeks before, a mutual friend organizes a weekend getaway trip for the SAME weekend that everyone agreed to go to (she invited FI and I too but that’s besides the point). She said it was b/c its a long weekend and that was the only time everyone could get more time off work to go away – true, but there is still one long weekend left to the summer! So why don’t you pick that one??!!!
I am really mad at her for doing this and even more mad (actually I don’t know who to be more aggravated with) her or my friends that all agreed to go and ditch my party and now putting me on the spot to go with them away, which after this I don’t want to! This is a large group of friends so without them there my party turns into a 5 person get together (if that) because I just found out my fiance and I have a birthday party to go to that same weekend, which means I would have had to cancel my party anyways but they didn’t know that. BUT that’s besides the point, my friends didn’t know that and went ahead and planned something else when I clearly reserved that day!
Am I making a big deal out of nothing? Or do I have a right to be mad here?
