Just a question for any fabric/lace savvy brides out there.
My wedding dress was a sample so had a few make up marks etc on the lining which will come out with a dry clean. After I had already fallen in love with it I noticed a few little holes in the lace which I put down to lots of brides trying it on, it catching on their jewellery etc.
Is it normal for this to happen with lace just with the wear that would have happened with so many brides trying it on or do you think it’s the integrity of the dress itself? I’ve fixed all the holes but I’m just worried that by the end of the wedding day my dress will be covered in holes…
Thanks in advance

I’m no seamstress but as someone who catches their jewellery on clothes all the time, I think that’s more than likely what has happened. Prongs from rings and backs of earrings are especially great for putting little holes in stuff. Unless it’s a giant tear that can’t be mended, I think you have nothing to worry about.

I had hole in my lace sample as well but then again there was makeup from brides on it as well 🙂
There is nothing to worry about! It happens over time as girls take off and put on the dress

@MsChandler: I’m quite sure that the holes were from snags, not the integrity of the fabric.

Yeah. Lace doesn’t like, disintigrate or anything like that. It was probably just a case of some bridezilla being rough and disrespectful to the dress because it was the store’s property and not hers.
