My parents are hosting an engagement party for us over the holidays and I came across this beautiful holiday invitation:
(Love The Minted!)
I am having trouble figuring out how to word it. It will be a casual affair, just a cocktail party at my parent’s house, but I think it’s proper etiquette to acknowledge that they are hosting the party. Is it too formal to put Mr. & Mrs… or are first names okay?
Under “merriment and joy”, I thought we could add “as we look forward to the upcoming nuptials of our daughter, X, and X?
We got engaged several months ago so I’m not sure if you are suppose to put “as we announce the engagement of our daughter, X, to X?
I feel like it might be too much on one card! I suppose we could just add a note on the back saying that it’s also an engagement party, but that doesn’t seem to acknowledge it as much.
Should I just change the wording on the front altogether? I do like “celebrate the holidays with merriment and joy.”
