I haven't had my reception there yet, but I'm booked for next June! They seem to be very flexible and willing to work with your ideas. They are super helpful and friendly. My FH has his work parties there every year and says the food is AMAZING! I have heard many other people say the food is great too (which is important to me)! I booked the Great Hall and I hate the floors and lights but I didn't like the long skinny shape of the Harvest Hall (even though it had much better decor). Do you have any specific questions that I might be able to help with? I'm so excited to find another Fargo bride!!
I've been to several weddings there. They were all fairly large but I had a good time as a guest. :-)
=D!
@NDBride2011: Wow, you're wedding is just a few months before mine! That's really exciting! I'm very very glad to hear the food is good there, :)... my fiance and I have a lot of planning yet to do and so it's nice to know we at least chose a place with great food! We also are renting the Great Hall and I agree that the decor, esp the carpet, is pretty out there. But we figured it's a really great venue and pretty decent price for what we get! Do you know what time they start tear down? I can't remember what time we're supposed to be out of there... Also, have you looked into DJs? Any recommendations or DJs to avoid? Are you having a slideshow, if so, who are you renting a projector from? Your DJ?
@amaroo24: I'm glad to hear you had a great time as a guest! I hope my guests enjoy their time as well!
I've been a guest at the Fargo HI. It was in the skinnier Harvest Hall, but the food was good! We'd looked there, too, but the rectangle shape of the dance floor didn't really work out for me. I did enjoy my night there though, everything was put out quickly and picked up quickly for food, and I think all the guests had a good time.
Re: DJs - We're using Power Play DJ. We've been to a few weddings they've worked and they've been really fun, get the crowd moving, and bring props for the kiddos to play with (some adorable pics of little guys jamming on air guitar balloons). I think they were pretty reasonable for price, and since we're off-season we get 2 hours of free dinner music in addition to our dance hours. I have heard of one DJ that you may want to possibly avoid or at least be very specific with, but please PM if you'd like to hear about that, I prefer to not put down any vendors in public unless they've specifically been bad to me, not second hand info.

Has anyone had their wedding reception at the Holiday Inn in Fargo!? How was the experience?
