I said no, because I am not sure if I’m going to work or not. If I do, then we can’t and if I have to work the day after we can’t, either. So it all depends on what our shcedules will look like and if there is snow. We would definitly be going to his parents, though, since they are closer!

We have made our plans. He is coming to my parents’ house for Thanksgiving (he does every year because his family doesn’t do Thanksgiving). We’re each going to our own families for Christmas. He came to my parents’ house last year, but his mom lives in NY and he decided to take 2 weeks to go see her over Christmas because he hasn’t seen her in a very long time. I guess I could just fly up for a few days, but its a lot of money and we’re trying to save. No biggy.. he’ll be home for New Years!!

Holidays are one big hot mess. He had a system worked out with his divorced parents, but once I entered into the mix it got a little screwy. FMIL insists that we spend Christmas with her even though she’s Atheist and I’m going to be a minister (and it has a TON of spiritual/religious significance)…needless to say I’m NOT thrilled about that. However, after I’m done with seminary, we’ll have to stay home for holidays because I will have to work! Thus, the annoyance is short-lived.

We’ve made our plans for this year…since our families live only about 45 min apart, we’re doing both for Thanksgiving, and most likely for Christmas as well. That’s about all we know…I sincerely doubt we can manage eating two dinners, so we’ll most likely be winging it.

It’ll be quite the experience, I’m sure. But definitely enjoyable!

I have to work…and FI will stay with me, as I will simply not allow him to leave me on our first XMAS together…hehe.

Seriously, though.  We will be honeymooning the week before XMAS and then stay at home.  Our wedding is over the Thanksgiving time as well, so people are coming to us =)

    I wasn’t allowed to choose 2 options!

But we have two – we usually do his mom’s, my family and then something with his dad – YUP that means 3 yummy christmas’!

But this year FI and Dad are going to NZ for FIs brothers wedding on Dec 27th so I am hosting christmas at our house (UGH -its so much work) with his dad and my family. His mom will be going to NZ before christmas so we are down from 3 to 1 this year!

well – this will be (technically) our 4th holiday season together…the first year – we’d only JUST met in October so I went home to my parents and he to his…but 2nd holiday season since, we’ve always gone with his family – his family always have a huge thanksgiving dinner at his uncle’s house and then christmas is at his parent’s house.

looks like this is what we’ll do for who knows how long.

my extended family isn’t close at all – and my mom works for our church every year – dad usually is working for overtime. OR if they have the money, they go down to florida to see my bro/sis-in-law and their baby.
