@Pinkmoon:  It’s officially about 4 months out!! I was sitting in bed last night doing the same thing… 16 weekends to finalize everything. I had a moment of panic because things have been so darn easy and smooth, so I feel like something HAS to be wrong. Cue slight crazed email to my amazing wedding planner this morning (which I’m sure she saw and laughed because it was just ridiculous.)

What’s on your plate this month?

For me, November is a big month – we have our tastings, big concept meetings with the florist and the venue, and all the design work with our planner. I feel like we’ve laid a good foundation, and just need to build up on it.

In other news, I also was SHOCKED to realize my shower is coming up soon as well! One of my bridesmaids has already picked out her dress! I think I’m going to go a little outside the box and buy this amazing winter white crepe suit from Ann Taylor and wear it with this amazing black peplum top I got this weekend. Thoughts?

Pants & Suit Jacket

Peplum top (I also bought a cute little bow belt too)

@Pinkmoon:  My shower is December 7th. We wanted to do it before the holiday insanity (which rules out late December and early January.) I’m so excited for it! I didn’t think I wanted one originally, but my BM’s stepped in and planned everything with my mom. It’s definitely my style: small, elegant, and with TONS of bacon.

Are you getting married in a church? We’re having a friend marry us, so we have to plan out the wholllleeee shebang.

@Pinkmoon:  I have a ton to do! We have our venue and menu and all that. I got my dress, bridesmaid dresses are picked out, he ordered his tux. We ordered our invitations. We booked our honeymoon and just got our passports. We still don’t have a DJ, a photographer, flowers, anything. I really didn’t want to get into debt so I was trying to pay for everything outright, but now time is slipping by and I really need to book vendors! With my paycheck in two weeks I should have enough to pay for the photographer, but I may have to give up and put the DJ on credit or something. My FMIL has decided that she will help us with the flowers which is awesome, but I don’t know if I should depend on that. I feel like umm.. I don’t want to be rude if she’s helping us out, but are we going to actually look at florists at some point? Maybe I should just go out on my own and do it. Then I need to find and book a hotel and transporation. I need to get our guestbook and make decorations. Buy gifts for people in the party. Wow, I really feel like I have nothing done at all. 🙁

Hahaha, I might be the only one who’s thinking “there’s STILL four months to go???”. 😛 Here’s what we have on tap for November, and all of it is happening in the first week of the month!

– Walk-through of venue with florist to sign off on final designs

– Menu tasting

– Cake tastings with two different cake vendors

@Pinkmoon:  Who doesn’t love piles of bacon, right?

I started trying to write the outline of our ceremony yesterday, and just ended up confused and annoyed. I have no idea how to start it, or who should do what. And every wedding seems to have a little different order to the events. I think we have intros, rememberances, comments by our friend who is marrying us, Declaration of Intent, reading, vows, rings, presentation. Aiming for 20-30 minutes, tops.

My big plan for Nov is to finish thank you gifts for friends who are assisting. I make jewelry so I’m thinking of making necklaces/earrings for the ladies & including a gift card. So I have to make sets for my officiant (practically a mother to me), soloist, cupcake maker, 2-3 ladies who are cooking the food, college girlfriends who are helping flip the room between ceremony & reception, photographer, some friends who are loaning me their vacation rent house for all the college girlfriends, 2-3 ladies who have said they’re throwing me a shower, & my sisters in law who are getting pressed into service helping decorate. Only 20ish sets, & I’ve finished 5 so far.

We’re getting married in a park’s community center, so everything is DIY. Nice on the budget, killer on the organizing. I also need to nail down people to help with all the various tasks; I don’t want to leave it all on one person, so I’m trying to split things into small tasks, like “decorate the tables using this photo as inspiration” and “pack up all the food and deliver it to XYZ”. I figure it’s easier to get 20 people to do a 5 minute job than leave one person to do everything.

I’m starting to get to the “OMG it’s getting close” freak out place… Especially since I realized I’m 5 days away from being into double digit days in my countdown!

Almost at the 3 month mark for me. Eek! We’re planning on getting addresses and sending out invites hopefully before the 15th. After that, just paying stuff off and picking out songs for the DJ. I also have my first alterations fitting on the 9th. So excited!  We’re just ready for the big day already!
