Congrats! I was in such shock right after too. Seriously I was on vaca with my mom and sister when I POAS and i was so shocked they were like ‘so, but you are keeping it, right?’ cause i was just like numb and facutal about it. We were sort of trying but not charting or stressed about it. Try not to freak out (though I freaked out and people told me not to and it didn’t make any diff). Pregnancy is a slow process so you have time to adjust to all the stuff slowly. I would tell hubby ASAP because if you don’t you’ll have to explain that you knew and didn’t tell him. IDK. with me and my DH that would be weird.

I started a new account for this since some friends know my old one. My husband and I have been NTNTC for about a year and a half, and had just resigned ourselves to thinking this may just not be in the cards for us.
My period was due today and I’ve been feeling off all week, so I POAS without really considering anything, and it came back positive. Two of them did.
I…don’t even know how to feel right now. I’m sort of excited but mostly terrified and now I’m panicking. I can’t tell hubby yet because he’s up against a wire for a project tonight and I know if I call and tell him he won’t get anything done after that.
I feel like I need to be talked off a cliff, this is so surreal…

EasyPeasyLemonSqueezy: When I found out I was pregnant, I sat in the dark by myself (in my living room) and had all sorts of emotions – panic, joy, disbelief, etc – for at least an hour lol I am now 13 wks preggers and it still doesn’t feel real!

keesl: Thank you for replying. I feel really weird not calling him immediately, but his deadline is in under two hours and I’m so worried about throwing him off his game with this bombshell. I don’t even know how to tell him! I think I’m just going to leave the tests in the bath and tell him there’s something on the counter for him…

Diamondgurl: Thank you! I sat in the corner of the kitchen for a while and stared at the cabinets; I think the dog was starting to get concerned.

EasyPeasyLemonSqueezy: congrats! I just found out today too, it’s a weird feeling isn’t it!

Congratulations! I am not even close to children but think about it often and I think that I would need time to just sit in the dark and think ALL the things! I would also wait to tell my SO if he had a big project that was nearing completion.
Can’t wait to hear what his reaction is!

I didn’t tell DH right away when I got my BFP, because I wanted to tel him in person. I put a t-shirt on our dog that said “big bro” so that way when Oakley greeted him at the door, he’d figure it out =)

EasyPeasyLemonSqueezy: Congratulations! I know you are going through a whole host of emotions right now, that’s normal. My DH and I had been diligently trying for almost a year and found out last week that it finally happened! Now that it’s sunk in a little more we are hit with the reality of it, DH is stressing about money, I’m stressing out about how we will parent together (we tend to butt heads on some things with just our animals, I can’t imagine about with kids!), but you know what? That is all normal! So take a deep breath, tell your DH when his deadline is over (or when he gets home from work so it can be in person!) and just enjoy it!

EasyPeasyLemonSqueezy: Congrats!!! It is a very strange feeling. You work yourself up for all the excitement and then when you finally get the BFP you stare at it like it isn’t real. Then you get re-excited and then you start getting nervous and scared. It’s all a part of the awesome, crazy emotional rollercoaster that is pregnancy.
And, not to threadjack, but…
Bazinga: WHAT THE WHAT?! You’re pregnant?! Congrats!!!!!!!!

Thank you ladies!
Bazinga: Congrats to you too, and points for the username 🙂
My hubby finally came home and I told him I needed to tell him something. He goes, ‘what, you’re preggers?’ (this is kind of a running joke with us) and I must have gotten a weird look on my face because he looked over at the counter, saw the test and just started laughing like a maniac. Then of course I started giggling, and it was a huge laughfest punctuated by the occasional “Oh, SHIT” and “Fuuuuuuuuck!” and then more laughing.

I called and made a Dr. appt for April and bought prenatals today, then took a digital test to confirm.
Yep, still pregnant!
