Sorry I was trying to come up with something creative.

So this weekend I was finally in search of a bra (pref. nursing bra) that was going to fit me properly. I know that I had mentioned in a previous post that I was a 38C pre-pregnancy. I knew I got a bigger so I had to have the lady at Motherhood Maternity measure me. What she said, shocked the hell out of me...

I am now a 40E! Holy crap! I had to make sure my hubby heard that and of course he did, lol! The funny part is that they still have to grow some more. I really got me some BIG boobies now! Oh, how I hope I can retain some of the size and not sag too much after BFing the baby!

Anyone else shocked with their increase in bra size during your pregnancy?

Don't have anything to add because I'm totally not pregnant, but I just wanted to let you know your title completely cracked me up. :)

I can TOTALLY relate!  I was a nice, solid 36C pre-pregnancy...and here I am, 18 months later and I'm a whopping 36DD+ depending on the fit of the bra.  I would imagine a 36E would fit me wonderfully, to be honest!

Much to my horror, I noticed the other night that my right breast is OODLES largers than my left.  I know it's normal for one breast to be larger than the other but pre-pregnancy it was never noticeable.  Now?  The right one bulges out of the side of my bra (when I'm full and haven't nursed in a while) and the left one sits snuggly.

    The lovelies of pregnancy!  LOL!

Do they hurt?  To be honest, I am very concerned about having weirdo nipples after.  All the ladies in my pregnancy book have huge dark bumpy nipples.  I'm sure that will happen, but will they go back to normal later on?

oh my, I can relate as well. I started off as a nice 32C and now I'm a 32E/F!!! I'm truly scared for when my milk comes in... and i'm not at all kidding when I say I'm getting some work done after I have kids. They were never the perkiest boobs to begin with, but I already know they are going to be very national geographic-esq by the time all is done and finished.

Lol, I'm chuckling because Husband and I had a similar discussion last night where I told him that a few years down the road, when it's time for kids, my breasts will get huge. I'm already a 42D and I told him I'll probably hit the E or higher size. His comment "I really like your breasts." Yes honey, that was the point of the discussion.... Smile I don't think he can actually picture what that big is.

    Great post title!

Yep! I was a 34 C before hand, and mine got so large, there were no bras to fit me. I ordered a 36 E nursing bra, and it was WAY to small in the cups. I never was able to find one that fit me :( And, sorry if TMI, but my boobs are now a 34 D, and saggy :( And have stretch marks. They are not pretty like they used to be!

I was a 36 C pre pregnancy and went up to a 40 e also.....they were ridiculous.  My FI was actually so happy when they got smaller after I was done nursing!  I am down to a 34 B now and they are just not what they used to be, BUT FI doesn't care and tells me I'm beautiful the way I am :-)  After all they grow to feed the BABY and if any man has a problem with it....umm yeah.  About the nipples, they do get HUGE and bumpy but once again, afterwords I swear they look normal again.  I guess very rarely some women have more permenent changes but in my case they went back.  Oh and stretch marks stay forever. lol.

Yes, I am 27 weeks in and I have stretchmarks all around my girls. The size doesn't bother me as much but the stretchmarks are dark red and VERY noticeable (obviously only to those that see them). The sagging kind of scares me too because at my pre-pregnancy size, my boobs did not sag at all but now forget it.

Anyone else notice that the skin got a little softer? Not sure if this happens to anyone else but also when I get goosebumbs it's like I can see the start of every hair follicle. Weird?

Oh yes! The pores on boobs are much more noticable now. Its really weird. Almost like from them getting so big, it streched those out too! They shouldn't stay that dark though. After my boobs went down, the stretch marks weren't so noticable. Can still see them, but not as bad! The saggy is what bugs me! I used to have perfect boobs! Perky and nice size, now they hang! :( so depressing!!!! I feel like i have tube-sock boobs!

LOL Roddy!  Just an FYI, Motherhood Maternity does not carry a "DD" style, they call it "E."  (My sales associate told me that!)  I'm a 38E right now!  I actually think I've grown a bit and will need the 40E soon...but I'm totally procrastinating buying yet another bra that will only fit for a few weeks.  Plus I don't even see my size available online!!  ACK!

@heathaah: Your nipples perma-darken.  They will never be the pretty, pink, perky nipples you knew before.  Even if you don't breastfeed.  *Sigh* And I'm depressing myself.

I always thought I wanted something bigger than my usual 32B, but now I'm at a 34D, and I think they are way too big!  I feel like I'm busting out all over.  I can't wait for my breasts to get smaller again; I miss my little boobs!

@Mighty - yes, that is was my sales associate said. When I said 'E', she told me that it is a DD. Even so, I started laughing.

I think we will all miss our boobies!

Yeah, I'm really going to miss these things.  On the other hand, I can't wait to be able to buy a shirt in a medium again instead of an XL to accomodate the girls!

Please, oh please tell me these babies will go back down (er, shrink?) after I'm done nursing.

I don't mean to hijack this thread at all but when you practice "extended BFing", say...up to 24 months, do they ever get smaller?

My boobs are blessings -- they have nourished my DD for 18 months but dear me, they're unsightly buggers!  Large and IN charge, complete with stretch marks and maybe a few little nail marks from an overzealous special someone...and that someone isn't DH!  LOL!

At least you were smart enough to get measured.

I went by myself to Khol's when I was visiting my mom and kept underestimating my change in size.... so I ended up having to get dressed and round up bras 3 different times. UGH.  Seriously it was a 2 hour process.  Next time I'm making sure Mom goes with me so she can go round up new sizes.

    34C ----> 38D.  And I'm only 22 weeks.

I keep feeling like I have 'woman' boobs now.  (Even though at 31 I've been a woman for a while :))

Screw it. I'm not having kids.

I'm already a size I don't care to admit online and based on the experiences here, I will enter freak show range while pregnant.

    There's always adoption right?

Before I had my oldest daughter I was a 32B. She'll be 9yo in a few weeks. When I was pregnant and while I pumped afterwards, I went up to a D. My nipples did get darker with each pregnancy, but I'm really pale skinned, so after nursing, they turned into a pretty rosey color. With my subsequent pregnancies, my boobs got huge, but after my younger daughter was born and I was done nursing, my boobs settled into a nice full 34C (probably bc of the extra five pounds I've been carrying) and have stayed that way for the last five years. I have a few stretch marks on the under side, but I don't feel like my boobs are at all saggy! In fact, I really like the way my boobs have looked the last few years and I have great cleavage! So, there's no gaurantee that your boobies will be ruined after a baby! I am, however, a little skeptical that I'll bounce back after this baby!

Mine are getting huger and huger as we speak, but they don't hurt as much as they did with my other babies (probably bc they've already been stretched to capacity!)I'm trying to put off bra shopping, since I'm only 7 weeks, but I think I'm already heading into a D.

Oh, oh!  I forgot to mention for those curious, my nipples were pretty dark during and after pregnancy for the first several weeks but within a month they started to lighten back up to their normal shade.  I can't say this is the case for every mama out there but I've never known them not to lighten again.  I read once that they darken up so that the newborn baby can find their food source easily.  Nature is awesome!

This thread terrifies me! I am not pregnant, or planning to be anytime soon, but I am a 34GG. Sooo WHAT ARE THEY GONNA BE WHEN I AM PREGGERS? Oh Lordy, that scares me. I may have to consider a breast reduction after I'm done pro-creating if they don't go back down afterwards! le sigh.

WOW, this thread terrifies me too!  I am not or have been pregnant and do not plan on it for a few years.  I'm currently a 32D and grow almost a cup size during "girl time" and can only imagine how HUGE I will get during and post pregnancy.  Sigh....

Now this may be wierd but mine got darker during pregnancy and then have lightened back up to almost pre-pregnancy coloring.

This is just what happened to me.

@Mighty - I am just hoping my actual nipple won't poke my DD in the eye, lol. I have never seen them so damn big nor stick out as much. Can't really hide them anymore when I get cold. I will be laser beaming people left and right.

    :)
