I started cleaning my computer folders and found sooo many inspiration pictures that I thought to start a home inspiration folder to weed out and organize my ideas. I love looking at all the wedding inspiration boards — it’ll be fun to take it to the home section of WB!
Here’s my attic room inspiration board. We bought a traditional cottage style home and the upper floor is layed-out like an attic conversion. I fell in love with the exposed beams but having a hard time envisioning how to decorate it since it’s so symmetrical.
I’d love to see other Bees home improvement / decor inspirations!

Do you actually have a house with ceilings like that? If so, thats awesome!

Ours isn’t exactly like that, but it’s symmetrical. Here’s pics of what the previous owners had done with it:

Way cute! I love the layout!

It’s not my layout It’s how the previous owners had it (we don’t hunt for anything except for mushroom! ). We want to have a more functional room and although the 2 couches across from each other is pretty, it doesn’t make sense with the TV. The walls are pretty low on the sides, so it’s a little tricky to come-up with something. There’s also a glare issue so we can’t have it against the windows.
But I was hoping to make this an inspiration thread instead. Ladies, lets see your inspirations! I’ll try to put together another board for another room.

I have an attic bedroom. I played up the walls with bright paint.
You can do a lot of interesting things with those angled walls! Lots of color may not be your thing, but it could help you create a design scheme. Your room is big enough and tall enough for two separate living spaces and lots of bold colors, or an accent wall. Maybe you could move the seating to center around the stove, which would also bring it closer to the TV (I’m assuming there’s less glare in that corner) and leave room for a desk/bookshelf/window seat/whatever by the windows.
Also, I find the deer head hilarious. I love how it’s peeking over the beams!
