- Wedding: August 2012
Hi Im new here 🙂
Heres a little background: My fiance is stationed on the other side of the country right now and has been for a couple years. weve been together for 3 and a half years and most of that has been LDR due to the army. He proposed last April and we knew it would be a long engagement, but i think after we got through his deployment he really wanted to mark me as his. 🙂
Anyway, hes done with his contract June of 2012 and I cant help but start planning and getting excited. We want to get married and move in together. The only problem is there are so many transitions bombarding him when he gets home. I dont know how to approch the issue. My parents will only pay for the wedding if we dont live together beforehand (which i think is ridiculous) Right now I live with extended family while im in school and I graduate just before he comes home for good, so well both need a place to live.
So heres the question: Should I hurry up and get married when he comes home so we can get our own place and live with our own parents immediately after we come home? Or should we wait and torture ourselves living a half an hour away from eachother when we really just want to be together and let him have his time to settle before getting hitched. In my ideal world I could have our house ready for when he returns home and then finish up planning the wedding at our own pace, but my mom wont have it.
