It depends on what you mean by “made.” I designed ours myself and had them printed?

My husband did exactly what  vorpalette  did.  They came out nice, however, nothing beats those ridiculoulsy expensive ones you see at bridal shows.

We made ours!  It was a lot of work and ended up way more expensive than it should have, but I’m super proud of them!

Ditto to @vorpalette.  I designed ours, having them printed at Catprint, and then doing some embellishment (backing the main invite, vellum wrap, belly band).

Just as @vorpalette: I designed our invitations and had them professionally printed and assembled by Cards & Pockets. I’m very pleased with the end result, and I’m glad that we didn’t try to save by printing them ourselves. The savings would have been minor, and the end product no where close to the one we received from C&P.

I’m sure your invitations will come out great, looking forward to see the end result! In case you want to add an extra touch, I would recommend that you line your envelopes. It didn’t cost much, but it really took our invitations that extra step!

@elysion

Wow, those are beautiful. I’m almost embrassed to show mine now.

We made ours, they’re little booklets (6 or 7 pages) held together with coloured cord.  The cover is a 30s style drawing of a wedding dress that my grandmother designed and made.  Inside each page has a 20s art deco style border, there’s a page for whose invited, general introduction, accomodation, food and an “and finally” page with a cheesy picture of us on it.   I don’t have a picture of it construted but some of the pages are below to give you an idea.  We printed them on cream, so they look a bit more elegant than the white shown here.I’m very proud of them and we’ve had good feedback from guests about them.

@elysion:  Love these!!! Is there a meaning behind the bunnies or is it just the theme? What did you use to make the curved edges? I’m currently looking for a ‘punch’ that can do that!

@orchidaloha:  wow.. that sounds beautiful!  I wanted to keep costs down for certain things and the invites were 1 of them.  I figured they are just going to get tossed in the garbage, but when I compared mine to others I was like damn… I don’t have the heart to tell my husband because he’s a designer, but you just can’t compare them to what’s out there. @elysion:  I am in LOVE with your invites! They are adorable! I wish people took this much pride in thier invites. I always get sort of bummed out when a wedding invite comes in the mail and it’s just like they picked “Floral Motif #234”. Your’s are so personal. And the bunnies?!? LOVE! I had a bunny on my invites too!

It was a labor of LOVE 🙂

I drew the illustration myself, colored in the details with glitter gel pens, sewed all the lace bands, threaded the leaves onto the rafia, glued, punched, printed… I loved the end result.

@orchidaloha:  Thanks!

@RECrerar:  Thanks!  I love your art deco booklets as well, such a cool design!

@Dareebs:  Thanks!  Our theme is “bunnies”, but mainly because we have a pet rabbit and have been trying to incorporate him in as many ways as possible since he can’t actualy be there (at least I have.. I don’t think FI was too concerned LoL).  I used a corner punch purchased from Michael’s to curve the edges, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-FCSP-7330-2-Inch-Corner-Squeeze/dp/B0018BWIR8/ref=sr_sp-btf_title_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1370969629&sr=8-6&keywords=corner+punch
