I've been noticing a bit of homophobia on the boards lately and it's starting to really bother me. I just want to remind everyone that wedding bee is a place of tolerance and support. If you for what ever reasons don't like gay people, please, please, please just keep it to yourself.

I agree!! I'm not liking the drama right now...I'm taking a break until tomorrow!  I hope it all passes by then!

ive seen a couple of threads where same sex marriages are discussed in a reasonable manner but i wouldnt call that homophobic (unless the threads have since gone downhill since i last read them)

wow, hadn't even seen the "bummed" post... I've certainly seen a few homophobic comments that disturbed me on other threads though...

I agree with eloping. There is no gay bashing on WB, and I don't believe Mrs. and Mr. Bee would allow it if it were.

There were some insensitive comments made. I don't think anyone was trying to be offensive, but sometimes it happens nevertheless. Just hoping that the subject, if brought up, will be treated with more respect from now on.

@northernazbride:  Would you mind sharing where you feel the homophobic remarks were made?  If there was something that really crossed the line it should be addressed.  Otherwise, I think people are entitled to their opinions as long as they are within the community guidelines

I agree about keeping love on the boards! There's enough unhappiness & hate in the world. We're all here to celebrate our special life moments, let's keep the hive peaceful :)

My point is that if you are of the opinion that marriage should be between "one man and one woman" there are more appropriate places to discuss the matter. This is a wedding website that is all-inclusive and I think it's rude for people to come in here and automatically judge other peoples relationships. It isn't ok for me to go around bashing other people's hetero relationships for no good reason, so why do it to our gay and lesbain folks... it's just in poor taste.
