- Wedding: November 2011
I’ve been having nightmares about having a horrible wedding and need some reassurance! Can anyone relate to this? I’m freaking out about stuff like the vendors not showing up, the timing being horrible, the guests being bored… terrified that our wedding is going to be a boring, ugly, chaotic, poorly-executed, stressful, EXPENSIVE mess.
Our colors are black and white with metallic accents. BMs are wearing LBDs of their choosing, and we will all be carrying calla lilies. Boutonnieres will be white roses.
Can I get some honest opinions, please? Does this look/sound like a horrible wedding to you? Brutally honest criticisms? How can I make this better??
Invitation inspiration (we’re reversing the colors to make it white lettering on black):
1:00 – Church ceremony. Lots of candlelight and white flowers. No bows or tulle. FI wants a proper church ceremony, so it will be a little longer (45 minutes). We are only using stuff that is personally meaningful to us, though.
1:45 – 2:30/2:45 – light refreshments (plus spiced cider and mulled wine since it’s November!) in the church hall for guests while bride and groom receive everyone
2:30 – 4:00 – bride and groom go to take pictures, guests travel to reception venue and are given pre-dinner welcome drinks (pianist playing background music) in this room:
4:00 – plated 3-course dinner is served in this room (we’ll have lots of uplighting and spotlights for centerpieces, loads of candlelight, and white stage lights):
decor inspiration looks like this (those are my centerpieces and I love black tablecloths):
6:00 – coffee, dessert, toasts, and speeches; bride and groom visit tables (ipod music in background)
7:30 – band starts playing (wondering how to make this really fun…see them here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXoAVXtHTcY
8:30 – evening buffet served, cake cutting, potential bouquet toss/garter toss
9:00 – band’s second set, more dancing
10:00 – bride and groom say goodbye to guests, grand exit
What does everyone think? Am I flipping out over nothing? I’m afraid vendors won’t show up, things will be ugly, etc.
