That is a beautiful dress on you. I love the straps! I think it accentuates your figure without drawing too much attention to what you say are large hips. I think you have a nice figure, and you should definitely show it off!

It is a gorgeous dress, but yes, I am drawn to your tummy/hip area, not in the back view but in the front.

I love this dress and you look beautiful but it isn’t the dress shape for a real hourglass shape I don’t think. I too get drawn to the middle which could be because of the “bling”etc.

I think your positives are accenutated.  The dress is beautiful on you.  It reminds me of the ladies of the 50’s tiny waist and great hips.  Don’t over think it too much, if you love the dress and you look great in it.

its hard to say because after reading your post, i think your description drew me to your hip area! you do look beautiful in it, but if you have this many concerns and uncertainties, i think you could keep looking until you find a dress that you look at and have no worries about any of these things!

I totally disagree with Atalanta, I think this dress looks fantastic on you! Seriously, gorgeous! I think it completely gives you that hour glass shape, the only other style that I think could achieve that would be a trumpet style gown. I think an A-line would be too plain.

On the other hand, you want to feel 110% sure that your dress is the one for you and if you aren’t feeling that then you could be a two dress bride. Anyway, good luck. Again you look fabulous.

It is a nice dress but it does make you look a bit short waisted. I’m not sure if that is the detailing on the under-bust giving that effect though or not.

I think if the dress wasn’t fitted as far down the thighs (like half way perhaps) it wouldn’t draw as much attention as it does. Is this a fit & flare more than a dropped waist?  Did you try on any other dress silhouettes that you liked/gave you a different shape?

I know a lot of people think that a-lines are universally flattering, but I tend to disagree (yes they look great on lots of people, just not everyone), so I would suggest trying different dress styles on, taking some pictures and comparing which you like better if you are unsure.

Fwiw, I don’t think you look frumpy at all, I think the detailing/beading is just distracting & maybe the straps are a bit long making it all sit a bit lower?

I wish I looked like that in my trumpet gown. You look amazing. The beading draws attention to how tiny your waist is, and the shape highlights your hourglass silhouette.

This dress is gorgeous on you!! I think it totally gives you an hourglass (rather than a pear) shape. Your torso and your hips look completely balanced to me. The dress is so beautiful; I love the straps!!

I think it looks gorgeous and you should alter it a bit on the top to bring out a little classy cleavage (or get a bra for that) if you are worried/insecure about your hips (which look fine to me by the way, but it’s all about how you feel in the dress).  Love the back of it and the straps!

@dynamic_duo: I agree, I was also drawn to that area after reading the post.

I think you have the figure for that dress, it gives you an hourglass shape, which any man would drool over! Plus, it makes your waist look super tiny.

I would also like to mention that no matter what all of us say, YOU have to look in the mirror and think, “hell yea this is the one” and feel like a million bucks in it.  If you are really questioning it and questioning whether you will feel at your best in it on your day, then keep looking.
