i could give you tons of ideas but you left off a few key important details – like how long, time of year, budget, interests (more lounging or active honeymoon). more luxury or you ok with backpaking it? you intersted in going abroad or you want to stay local? and where is local for you? you mention mountains but like hiking mountains or like skiing in the alps mountains? too many unknows to give you any ideas sorry… maybe another bee could be more helpful? lol. for us i had to start with our budget and duration (3 weeks). from there it went to what we wanted to do – scuba diving (ie Hawaii) or more sight seeing (ie Italy). if we wanted both, we went to idea A (ie Belize). So i find when you’re making a HUGE decision (yet SUPER FUN) its easier when you break it down into catagories. hope this helps???

willingham2:  I guess depending on how far you would like to travel…I live in Colorado and the mountains here are beautiful!! May is even more perfect because everything is starting to bloom, but it is still crisp and cool up here. Breckenridge is the place I love most, but Glennwood Springs is adorable, and their hot springs is amazing! So relaxing and romantic. You really can’t go wrong with any of the small towns here in the Rockies.

If you have any questions I would be happy to answer!! 🙂 Good luck on your search!!

willingham2:  You can go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, river rafting, river tubing, hot springs, shopping, camping (if you are feeling really outdoorsy lol) some areas have their own parks where you can ride small roller coasters, there is this giant swing in Glennwood, zip lining, alpine slide in Breck is awesome!

And depedning on when you come, there are always events in late spring through summer, like beer festivals, wine festivals, food festivals, music…the list goes on.

I’m also an ATL bee! IDK if you could do it with your budget including flights (we fly for free so ticket prices blow my damn mind) but I would recommend Hawaii. You said you grew up near the beach so I’m assuming FL or even GA, but this is nothing like you are used to! There’s a ton of hikes and adventures to do, plus you it can still be private. It’s seriously amazing out there and wish everyone could go at least once in their life. I’ve been a lot of places and it is by far my favorite!

willingham2:  thats ok! i haven’t been to Belize but check out caves branch adventure lodge. (http://www.cavesbranch.com/belize-adventure-vacation-packages). you can River Cave Expedition, Waterfall Cave Expedition, Black Hole Drop Expedition, River Tubing, Belize Zip line, Mayan ruin tour, and more!  From there you go to st George caye resort where u can get those over water or ocean front cabanas and do all types of water activities including scuba diving and fishing and kayaking. Thats the trip my dive group is taking next year but we cannot afford to go as we r paying for our wedding at the same time. You can take a look at one or doing both. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Belize and it seems very luxury. Even the caves branch lodge rooms seem lux. Both are all inclusive and 5 star resorts. But the bees here have good ideas too!  The hardest part is choosing!
