Have you thought about a cruise? There is a cruise leaving Vancouver BC to Hawaii on September 17 for 15 nights, returning to Long Beach on the Carnival Magic.

Cruises are basically AI except for alcohol.

@KJA00:  They say that every year lol

But we are going on a cruise mid September…I’m a little worried. However, we have gone to Florida in September 2 years in a row and have not had any issues.

Why not just delay the honeymoon?  Honestly many folks are so tired from all the wedding activities that the first couple days of the honeymoon, you just want to sleep. Take a couple days out of town in a city not too far away, and save your proper honeymoon for a few months later. Not only will the hurricane threats have passed, you’ll have time to recover physically and financially and you’ll enjoy your honeymoon more.

We honeymooned in Tokyo and Hong Kong about 3 months after our wedding, and did a quick trip to Chicago right after the wedding. Wouldn’t have had it any other way in hindsight; Chicago’s easy to get to for us, we can go back any time, and we really just wanted to relax, which was fine in a city we visit often, but would have been disappointing to not want to explore Tokyo for being too tired, knowing it might be many years before we get back.

“The only inhabited Caribbean islands not in the hurricane belt are Barbados, Grenada, Bocas del Toro, Trinidad and Tobago, Bonaire, Curaçao, Aruba, Providencia Island, San Andrés, and the islands off Venezuela (although they do occasionally get impacted as well).” from Wikipedia lol

We’ve had our honeymoon booked for the middle of September for months now.  We did purchase insurance (only $100 for both of us) just in case of hurricanes, we’d be covered.  No big deal! 🙂

I found an amazing deal on an all inclusive at the end of September, so I’m gambling a little too!  There is a rhyme in the carribean about “June too soon, October it’s over” Sept 25 is REALLY close to October….right?  Wishing us luck!
