We went on a mini-moon that my husband planned while we were planning the wedding. We were going to go on our honeymoon this summer because we got married during the school year and I am a teacher. We then decided that a house was more important than a honeymoon right now, so it is put on hold for the time being. We hope to go within the next year or two. We can't wait to see Alaska - someday!
We went on a mini-moon and still waiting for our honeymoon - though I cant say when we will be going. I have to admit that I wish we had gone on a real honeymoon... I know we did it to save money
it wont be called a honeymoon any longer if its in 3 yrs. Thats a trip.
So something else I will have passed by. ;) (referring to my anniversary of course)

We are doing the same... we are going to San Francisco for 4 days in later August - about a month after the wedding...at our one year, we will do a bigger trip.
We are going to Chicago for a few days after the wedding and had planned on going somewhere great next summer. Well then I got pregnant and his brother announced their wedding next spring and my brother announced that he and his fiance are getting married in Tennessee next spring as well. So needless to say the tropical vacation is put on hold for the time being. Oh well....
We're getting married over spring break and taking a "mini-moon," but we're hoping to take a longer trip after I graduate/take the Bar exam this summer (assuming I have a job, otherwise... no big trip!). If we do, he'd plan the longer honeymoon while I study!

Hi ladies,
I know a lot of you aren't honeymooning right after the wedding. Mr. MJ and I aren't because it's right in the middle of our semesters. We're planning to wait until next summer instead.
My question for those of you who are also doing this is: When will you start planning it?
I feel like with all the money we're spending on the house, school, and wedding related stuff (rings, etc), I don't want to throw another expense in to the mix just yet. But as an obsessive planner it's hard for me to just put the honeymoon on the back burner, pretending it doesn't exist.
We don't even know where we want to go yet!
Our wedding's in mid September, so I set a mental deadline of having the honeymoon pretty much figured out by October 31.
How are you dealing with planning a later honeymoon?
