So we just booked our honeymoon at Secrets Maroma in Mexico, and my fiance and I are both SO excited! It will be his first time to Mexico and his first time at an all-inclusive, and I’m super excited to see how he reacts.
We booked SMB based on the great reviews and the fact that we could easily get a direct flight there. But of course I’m wondering if anyone has any first-hand experiences or tips. If anyone can share, please do 🙂

@loveinthelibrary: I haven’t but my friend has and had nothing but great things to say. Enjoy!
If you’re looking for something a little different to do, I’d definitely take the ferry over to Isla Mujeres for the day. That’s where we honeymooned and it’s an awesome little island!

My friend had her wedding there 2 years ago and it was awesome. Very clean, great food, fun entertaiment all day. The beach was also very nice, I spent a lot of time just laying on the beach and swimming in the ocean rather than laying by the pool. It seemed a little “spring breaky” due to the music and the hotel staff holding contests during the day, but the pool is nice nonetheless. One tip, some restaurants require reservations, like the seafood restaurant by the pool and the hibachi restaurant. Both really good food. You both will have a great time!!

@HeatherCOgirl: I’m hoping the pool isn’t too spring-breaky but I’ve read there are a few quiet pools – and I think we’ll probaly spend more time on the beach anyway. Thanks for the tips!
@pinotgrigio: Looks like you will be there soon after us!
@MrsWBS: I didn’t know there was a ferry there! That sounds awesome, I would definitely be interested in that.

@loveinthelibrary: I know of multiple people who has stayed at Secrets Maroma and now don’t want to consider any other all-inclusive in Mexico. And these are couples that have stayed at other all-inclusives before, but now are absolutely sold on Maroma. They have one of the best beaches in the area, and compared to other resorts in the area the pool shouldn’t be too crazy. It’s known more for romance rather then the party scene and its at a price point that isn’t going to necessarily attract spring break-type people.
