Expedia is my go-to for last minute trips and deals! Also, selloffvacations.com. Sorry you had to cancel your trip, but congrats on becoming a Mrs!

Kbridal:  I am so happy you cancelled the trip! I just got off the phone with our Hawaii office and it looks pretty bad. Where are you based and what is your budget? I can try and find you some deals!

Only hurricane I know of in the Atlantic is Bertha and that’s not near any Caribbean islands (its heading where I live lol). I’m not sure where you are located but I’m sure you can get a last minute deal somewhere beautiful. Check expedia or selloffvacations

Kbridal:  Check out some of the deals on LivingSocial or Groupon. Maybe try something more local?

Cancun/carribbean is also hurricane season right now… so watch out for that too.  Another option is travelzoo.com

I went to Cancun last month for eight days — the forecast was thunderstorms every single day and it never rained ONCE. I was totally confused.

Kbridal:  First, I realized that came off totally wrong. I am happy you aren’t flying into danger, not that I am happy that it was cancelled!

For easy, could you drive to the Finger Lakes? There are plenty of bed and breakfasts in the area. You could stay on the lake and drink wine, swim, and hike.  It looks like Black Sheep Inn has vacancies: http://www.stayblacksheepinn.com/. There are amazing vineyards (Bully Hill is my favorite) and great food.

For flying, it is hard to get international in that time period. But if you drive to Buffalo you can get better deals. I am seeing that you can get a round trip ticket to NYC for $271 and Boston for $276. You could spend $650 on flights, rent a car for $500, and drive to Cape Cod or the Hamptons (hotels at $200 a night for 7 nights). I got all of my prices from Kayak. That would give you $1000 for food. You could save by staying in the city and not renting a car.
