    Hey, bees!

I come to you in a time of need! FI and I are having a hard time deciding where to go to for our honeymoon... We both love to travel, both to old & beloved, and new places. We'd like to go somewhere really romantic, but where we can also get the most from our $, and hopefully would like to combine relaxing beaches and the big, cosmopolitan city. We're thinking 3 weeks.

So far, we've come up with 2 really, really, ridiculously good options :)

    1) Thailand + Paris: since we live in Chile, and there's really no short and inexpensive way to get there, we figured, why not fly through Europe and spend 3-4 days in Paris on our way back to Chile! I think this is a great option, since we get to relax (we're thinking Bangkok, Phuket-Ko Phi Phi, Ko Samui, Ko Tao), will be going somewhere none of us has been before, and we can stay at really nice hotels (which we could not afford anywhere else but Asia, probably). And, get a taste of Europe, too!

    2) Greek Islands, Italy and France: see, this is where I have a hard time. Part of me thinks going to Europe is something we will probably be able to do again during our life, and going to Thailand is probably less expensive, but... still, I can't help but feel it's THE. most. romantic. place, I think, to be on your honeymoon. Drawback is, it's much colder (we're leaving Oct 23, the day after our wedding), and we'd probably have to stay in hotels not as nice as those in Thailand.

So... have you been to Thailand? Or honeymooned there? What would you choose? Any advice is welcome!

    THANKS! Smile

I picked the Thailand + Paris option because you get the best of both worlds - you get a little Europe and a little exotic Thailand.

Thailand gets my vote just cos it's more unusual and memorable for a honeymoon and I've been and the beaches are beautiful. Maybe do Europe after you are married?

thailand all the way, you can totally stay in Thailand in luxury hotels for so much cheaper- make sure you use agoda.com for hotels, I have found some amazing rates (we are planning a trip!)- also hoteltravel.com- at that site I got Poppies in Koh Samui for 166.00 a night- private villa (they are all private villas) and every other site I found- in off season when we are going, was 340.00 a night.

I already talked to the front desk 3x (to arrange our hotel transfers) and they have my reservation fine- I scored a great deal and still have up to 14 days in advance to cancel- so check those two sites!

I am still shopping hotels in Phuket- I am leaning toward Serenity in a h20 room, but am not sure I want to be that far away from Patong, so I am still researching.

Go- then give me all the details!

Thanks everyone! We finally bought our tickets to Thailand & Paris! Now we'll start searching for hotels!

@JennaBride: THANKS! I'll definitely start from there! I've looked at Zeavola at Koh Phi Phi and The Racha on a nearby island, now let's see if I can get any deals on them!
