I think the $5000 is more like it these days! You could probably find a honeymoon for over 3000 but it won’t be a real decent honeymoon, for instance in Hawaii its about 4,900 for what is honeymoon like resort, but not even all inclusive….a 3,000+ is only a dinky 3 diamond, etc. An all inclusive resort in Mexico is about 5000…

If you want to stay in the $2000 range, and you’re set on going to the Bahamas, I would look at Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Seas. It would work in that range, and take you to the Bahamas.

The only adult only all inclusives in the Bahamas are Sandals and Kamalame Cay, and they will both run you about $5000 or more for a week.

I stayed at Our Lucaya Reef Village on Grand Bahama a few years ago and was very pleased. We did the all inclusive route. Check out their website. I believe it is very reasonable and the resort and beach is beautiful!

Well $2000 for an all inclusive might be difficult. The place we stayed was in the $3000’s (they’ll make adjustments for you). It includes everything! You tell them yr alcohol & snack preferences &  the house is stocked the whole time with them. The food is heavenly and non-stop. Really, the whole package was wonderful.

My FI and I went for a long weekend to the Riu on Paradise Island over MLK weekend.

We were there 4 days/3 nights and it was $2k total including airfare.

RIU was great and all inclusive including a swim up bar.

The view from out room was also INCREDIBLE and the rooms were big and gorgous.

View from our room:

Also, the Atlantis is RIGHT next door, so if you want to walk over and do some gambling it’s very easy. We also walked all the way to downtown Nassau one day. It was a long walk, but you can walk it (rather than taking a cab).

I stayed at Breezes a few years back and it was pretty affordable. They normally allow children but we went over spring break and it was adults only. I highly recommend the all inclusive route as we met people staying at a nearby hotel which was not AI and they complaigned about the price of food and drinks on the island.

I would second cheapcarribean.com I’ve never used them but they tend to get great reviews and often have amazing AI deals on 3 star properties.

As far as Sandals, can you get the price down by choosing a lower room grade? All the rooms are AI so giving up a few room amentities may make it a bit more doable.
