My fiance is in charge of planning this romantic escape. I would like to stay in the US and honeymoon in Arizona (Sedona possibly?) or California (San Diego). Does anyone have any “tips” on inclusive resorts in either state? I’ve looked up several and the reviews were not what I had hoped they would be. The wedding is in February of 2010. Thanks, and good luck with your wedding plans!

I’ve lived in both places (arizona and OC/San Diego where I am currently) and love both. February can bring fantastic weather for San Diego and there are tons of things to do here if you guys are go getters. Sedona is gorgeous and is much more “earthy.” There is a lot of new age stuff there. The red rock is gorgeous and it should be beautiful in February.
I’m not so sure about inclusive resorts, it may be better to look into some type of Bed and Breakfast. Northern San Diego County has a ton of adorable ones!
It depends on how much activity you want to do! If you have any questions just send me a message! 🙂

Sedona is amazing!! It is so beautiful and really rormantic.. rent a condo or timeshare and enjoy the scenery.
They have great resturants there and the town is very laid back and relaxing.. It’s a perfect honeymoon spot!

My vote is San Diego! I live in LA and I always love weekends away there. The beaches are beautiful, especially La Jolla. I highly recommend the Lodge at Torrey Pines. Pricey but beautiful!

I say San Diego! My FI and I both lived there for a few years, and we LOVE going back for weekend trips. It’s soo beautiful and relaxing! Lots of things to do, too: La Jolla (you have to spend at least a night or two in downtown La Jolla, on the shore — so many good restaurants and beautiful beaches!), Old Town San Diego, Coronado, the Gaslamp, Balboa Park. You guys can even spend a day or two in Baja California, which is only 45 min away. There are some great, non-touristy, relaxing beach resorts there too.

I actually honeymooned in San Diego and loved it. We stayed at a resort about 30-40 out of the city. It was pretty but not all inclusive. Message me if you want specifics.
Things to do:
- Visity Wine Country in Temecula (or you can even stay there)
- We did a hot air balloon ride in Temecula over wine country (beautiful)
- The San Diego Zoo (amazing)
- The beach
- Dinner Boat Cruise on the San Diego Bay (we also did this)
There are many other things we had planned to do but didn’t have time for like visiting the many beautiful parks, museums and more.
I have visisted Sedona once. It’s pretty but not too much to do after a few days.
