Well, April usually has some really sweet deals on all-inclusive Mexican vacation packages. When I was looking this last spring, I want to say I was finding packages for around $1,500 per person for 2 people.

If that is out of your budget or too cliche for you, I find parts of LA gorgeous in the springtime and the beaches are nearly empty but its still warm (well, this Wisconsinite found it warm for spring!). I got airfare round trip for $200 last April.

I am also a HUGE fan of Vancouver, BC, Canada. Its beautiful, has plenty of romantic spots (Queens Park at night with its views of downtown is breathtaking), and tends to be affordable (depending where you fly from. It usually costs me around $400 round trip from Milwaukee). The island is also beautiful with lots to do in a quaint setting.

Also, last spring I was finding a ton of amazing deals to Brittian and mainlad Europe. You could fly over to wherever is cheapest and interests you, then spend a week or two riding the train all over Europe, stopping in the towns/cities which interest you, staying at hostels or cheap hotels, and bonding while you explore Europe.

Good luck! And don’t forget to explore your options all over!

What about something like Lake Tahoe? Or Northern California? I may be bias because i life in the Bay Area now but it is beautiful.

Not sure about any “castle” like places in the US but I’d love to hear from others who may have suggestions!

Here’s a link to a Forbes article about US castles.  There’s some really cool places in the US you could go to!

Have you ever been to southern CA/LA area?  There’s a ton to do: Disneyland, aquariums, the Winchester mystery house, The Queen Mary ship, etc…  Also, LA is only a couple hours drive to Las Vegas, which always has cheap flights/rooms/meals.  Good luck!  Let us know what you chose!

it sounds like you’re on the west coast, but i thought i’d throw this out there anyways. quebec city, quebec is really really romantic and such a nice place to visit. they have a castle type hotel there (chateau frontenac), plus they have tons of cute bed and breakfasts. we stayed in a nice one for $90/night. and don’t worry about not speaking french, as most people working in the city speak english as well.

The Caribbean is beautiful in April, but not too sure if that is too cliched for you like Hawaii and Florida.  We went to St. Thomas/St. John last April and the weather was great.  Same with the Bahamas, Bermuda, Aruba, etc. I would assume.

As for the states, if you’re not looking for a beach-y vacation, you could try Vegas (always cheap) or New York.
