My Fiance & I have been trying to come up with an idea for a honeymoon! Ideas we have had so far (& rejected): Sandals in Bahamas (too expensive), Cruise (we are on a tight schedule and the time wouldn’t work), cabin in the woods (we loved this until I was reading reveiws & someone had written “hope we conceived our next child in that bed”, too weird for me!)
A bit about us: we are a young couple (will both be 22 when we get married). We are both quiet people, more reserved (not much for huge crowds). After we get married, we will have to drive to his summer internship (6 hours away) to start 3 days after we get married. Honeymoon will probably have to be a weekend trip (or 2 or 3). We will be in Oklahoma for his internship that summer.
So, ideas? I know there are some creative bees out there who will come up with something great!

You’re getting married in texas? then only have a weekend in between that and going to the internship in Oklahoma? Would it have to be close to those two states?

@MrsSanchizel haha, yes. We are getting married memorial day weekend, so we have Monday as well, but its a short timeline. (The internship is through a program that is paying for his last 2 years of school, so I will not complain about it!)
We really won’t have that much money saved at that point (I will just have graduated and won’t start working til Fall (teacher) and he will have some saved (from the scholarship), but will still have another year left in school. We’d rather do something close to there (enjoy our time, not just spend it all in the car/traveling).

@PennyPrincess: What about some of the hot springs in Arkansas? I’ve only been to Hot Springs but some of the places further up north look really pretty.

Why not have the honeymoon a bit later in the year? You’ll have more time to enjoy it plus have more time to save up for it.
We’re to be married September 2nd and not going on honeymoon till December 26, partially to conserve leave time at work and paritally to save up some spending money.

@fishbone becuase of the internship & school we wouldn’t be able to have a honeymoon til December, which would also mean we don’t get to see our families then (which would be horrible to us!) We are planning on a big getaway to Rome to visit the Vatican for our 1 yr anniversary, but want some small “mini honeymoons” that first summer
@Sheesh19 Ohhh the Hot Springs sound fun! We will have to look into that!

Well something that could work if you chose to honeymoon in TX is going to Kemah and staying at a B&B there. That is pretty much our plan lol something that is romantic and fun yet quiet and peaceful at the same time.
