@BearBear47:  Where do you currently live? Have you considered a stateside honeymoon to cut down on costs? What’s your idea of a budget honeymoon? I know a budget honeymoon to some means $3K whereas others means $750.

@BearBear47:  we liked bermuda. it’s pretty expensive (we stayed in a vacation rental b/c of that), but it IS your honeymoon. not sure what your budget is/how long you want to stay. the beaches were amazing and the public transit was really easy to figure out

@BearBear47:  Have you thought about Hawaii? Temperatures are pretty consistent around 30 degrees C. It does rain but it’s usually light, doesn’t last long and doesn’t stop you from doing anything.

You can probably get a great deal out of Vancouver or Bellingham, WA (onAllegiant or Alaskan).

If you want more money available for activities, get a rental from VRBO.

@BearBear47:  San Diego? FI and I went last fall and LOVED it. Super laid back beach areas, but really fun neighborhoods with nightlife. You can rent a car and drive up the coast to different beach towns too.

@BearBear47:  Have you thought about a cruise? Or an all inclusive resort 🙂 I stayed at Sandals Grande St. Lucia and it was straight out of a dream!

SO and I are going on a Southern Caribbean cruise in November. 7 nights 8 days. It is costing us $3K before spending money. All the food and drinks, including alcohol, are included.

We live in NZ and looking at Thailand for 8 nights is NZ$1500 which is cheap!! Planning on going for three weeks and it is not expensive to stay there and eat which you also need to look at. also Thailand has beautiful beaches!!!

@BearBear47:  Don’t go to the Big Island or Oahu for your honeymoon. I love Oahu and all the shops and restaurants it has to offer on a regular vacation, but it’s not super relaxing for a honeymoon. And the Big Island I think is about the same. FI and I are going to Kauai and Maui in mid July for our honeymoon and I think we are staying at the Sheraton at both. I recommend Maui. Kauai has a population of 65,000 people who live there so it is a quiet island, but very relaxing. We are probably going to spend $5-6k between flights and room and car for 8 nights. Also choosing ocean front rooms, though. If you’re willing to stay at a smaller resort or maybe a partial ocean view, I think you can find deals for $3k. Check hawaiianairlines.com for vacation packages at the top right tab on the home page. Groupon getaways might have something, too. I’ve also heard Punta Cana is amazing from many friends.

depending on what you like to do, I highly recommend the Big Island.  The village of Kailua is a great, laid-back town.  The snorkeling on the island is great.  There is a snorkeling tour you can take to swim with giant manta rays that was one of the most amazing things I have done in my life.  The island is the only one with an active volcano and that is really fun to see. We like to hike and kayak and paddle board and snorkel and the Big Island has that in abundance.  We were there in January and kayaked just feet away from three humpback whales.  But the pp is right that if you are looking for a purely relaxing honeymoon you should go to Kauai or Maui.  Kauai is also beautiful and has sime fun things to do, though the water sports can be iffy because the waves are often too strong to snorkel, etc.
