We were originally going to go to Bar Harbor, Maine (on the day you're getting married actually!). Now we're taking a minimoon to Savannah for a few days. Also, Boston is really fun and Orlando/Disney World would be really fun!
I think Disney would be SO much fun! That's what FI's parents did and they had so much fun they almost called into work to ask for more time off.
I also would LOVE to go on a train trip someday. They go all over the place in the US, and some go through Canada too. The pricing is about the same as a cruise and most trains have private rooms you can get.
There are a ton of ski resorts that turn into year-round resorts in the off season, and are usually pretty reasonable and in beautiful places. They often do outdoorsy stuff, like kayaking, hiking, and rafting too. I think doing something like that would be SO much fun!
I hadn't thought of Maine or Boston. I'll have to run those by the boy. :)
I would LOVE Disney World, but he's not up for it. Haha
@piglet_625: Those are great ideas! I'd never thought of a train. That sounds super fun!
And I definitely never thought of a ski-resort!
You could do wine country, like Napa. Never been, but I imagine its lovely if pricey.
DH and I took a roadtrip through the Southwest once and it was GORGEOUS, I loved it. Taos, NM and the national parks in Utah were my fave.
There's always Vegas, too!
I don't know where you are but here are some ideas....I hope they're helpful
Dont leave out San Francisco. Ive always loved it there. We went to Vegas for a bit then flew to SF for a long weekend.
Vegas! Thats where we are going because I love it so much. There is something for everyone whether you want an action packed honeymoon or a laid back one. There are TONS of attractions, restaurants, roller coasters, shows, free drinks, hiking, horseback riding, helicopter rides, the Grand Canyon and more! If you have any questions let me know
What are your interests for your honeymoon? Are you two the relaxing at the beach type or outdoorsy adventurous types? Also, what part of the country are you in...it might be nice to visit someplace new.
You could do a coastal honeymoon... spend a few days in Charleston, SC and then head down to Savannah, GA for a couple days.
I actually got engaged in Savannah and cannot say enough great things about that city. There is so much to do!! Can't wait to go back!
However, if you end up in South Florida (Ft Lauderdale, Miami, Key West), let me know and I can give you some 'must see' tips. That's where I live. :)
Good luck!
For Spring time: I would go to washington dc! I love visiting there because you can go to georgetown, alexandria, jamestown and all the monuments, museums, capital within the city. Plus they have great restaurants!
For Winter: What about going to Colorado or Utah and going skiing?! You could stay in a cabin or hotel and enjoy staying warm together- hot tubs, hot chocolate, fireplaces ;-)
Try looking at vrbo.com for vacation rentals if you want to stay in a private house/condo. Although one thing to remember about the hotels is room service!

FI and I are trying to decide where to go for our honeymoon. He looked up pricing and we can't really afford to fly anywhere outside the mainland US, but we'd still like to find someplace fun.
We don't want to go on a cruise (as much as we LOVE them) because we just went on a cruise to Mexico last May and are looking for something different.
Any suggestions on fun places to visit in the US?
