WestCoastingIt:  We haven’t been yet, but we’re honeymooning in Costa Rica at the Westin All Inclusive for the first week and the Arenal area for the last few nights. The resort isn’t all adults only, but you can upgrade to the adults only section of the resort. Thats what we did.

We honeymooned in the Bahamas at Sandals Royal Caribbean and loved it.  The major selling point for us was a private-offshore island where we spent 85% of our time (short 5 minute boat ride from the main resort).  We went in early November and were on the tail end of Hurricane Tomas, but still had a wonderful time and gorgeous weather for 5 out of the 7 days.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

I went to a Secrets resort in February… they are VERYYYYYY nice!  Complete luxury!  I went to the one in Cancun (Maroma) and I wish i could have stayed 2 weeks.

The are several locations outside of mexico (Jamaica, Dominican Republic)… All equally as lovely and great reviews online

We went to Couples San Souci in Jamaica for 10 days in 2012 and it fits your budget. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the staff, the grounds, the rooms and the food. There are 4 Couples resorts in Jamaica and from what I’ve heard around the ‘bee you can’t go wrong at any of them!

WestCoastingIt:  El Dorado Casitas Royale!! We are having a private destination wedding and our honeymoon there the week of November 8th. Weather will be great (post rainy season). We were going to go to Sun Palace which seemed like a nice choice (at the end of the Cancun strip) but my FI’s work friends convinced us to book at El Dorado. They have been there several times and friends of theirs had been there and to many other all-inclusives in Mexico over 25+ times. El Dorado is their favorite! There are two sides (Royale and Casita). BOTH are very nice so if you decide to book there just go with what works within your budget…This resort is a “gourmet all-inclusive.” What I’ve been told about other all-inclusives is that the food can feel redundant. The food here is locally sourced. They offer tours of the resort gardens where they harvest produce for their many restaurants. The resort is very lush (as oppose to very concrete). It’s also very large so you never, ever feel on top of everyone. I’ve spent hours on the phone with others who have been to this resort because they cannot say enough great things about this resort! If you think of any specific questions, feel free to reach out to me! Good luck

We are going to Jewel Dunn’s River Resort and Spa in Jamaica.  All inclusive adults only and top shelf liquor and wine are included!!!!! We have had friends go here and they said the food and resort are amazing.  Very private, high security and they provide a shuttle to and from the resort.  We went through CheapCarribean.com and got a 6 night stay for the both of us including airfare for under $2700.  I think they are doing a livingsocial or groupon right now.  We are going Nov 10 – 16th. Good luck and anywhere with your hubby will be just fine!

Another vote for Couples resorts in Jamaica. We went to Couples Tower Isle after our wedding in October 2013 and really enjoyed it. We stayed for a week. There are a ton of excursions and activities included in the stay, including a trip to the popular Dunn’s River Falls. I think it’s worth it even if just for the food — it was amazing! The only downside was that I somehow managed to gain 10 pounds while I was there and it hasn’t left yet!

We’re going to Couples Tower Isle in Jamaica at the end of November. I did a ton of research and Couples gives you free excursions and seems to have better food options. I’ve also read where service tends to be better at Couples. That being said, I’ve had friends love their Sandals experience as well. I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

We went to couples swept away for 7 days last month. It was awesome! DH and I say almost everyday “I wish we were back at couples!” The beach was amazing, our room was awesome, and the staff was great! There were plenty of included excursions/activities, we were never bored, and never paid for any of the extra excursions! I tell people, this is the vacation you take to relax. We were not looking to see Jamaica, or explore, and because of that this was the perfect spot for us. I booked our flight through the resort and we paid $4000 including airfare for both of us. I want to say our airfare was around $1500. That 4k also includes a room upgrade, we stayed in the atrium suites!
