hi all..i’ve been lurking for awhile (especially around the honeymoon board) and was hoping for some specific suggestions, instead of just general locations..
we are having trouble figuring out a honeymoon destination mostly because we are indecisive.
here is what we are looking for..
– we have 7 days off work (monday to monday)
-budget of around $5k..could maybe splurge up to $6k
-we dont care it its warm or cold locations, but we like to look at scenary
-we want PRIVACY and want to enjoy each others company and relax…i.e. we don’t want tons of people around, we don’t care about nightly shows, nor do we want to be encouraged to socialize. we have no problem not leaving our room for a day so far, the big mega resorts like sandals and breezes are not very appealing to us.
-however, we want things to be easy..all inclusive appeals to us(not a requirement), or we would like lots of restuarants near by (i.e. we have no desire to cook or have a long commute to a restarant during our trip)
-we like the idea of a jacuzzi or plunge pools in the room
anybody have a suggestion?

we are having a similar issue. in fact, we’ve had more trouble with this than booking our venue, band, and photographer combined.
right now, our number one choice is zoetry resort, near cancun. for flights & hotel (ocean front) and all inclusive its $5300 through their site, and $4500 through AAA..we can’t figure out if it’s the same room or not though.
we also entertained the idea of banff to go skiing, but all the places we liked, when you factored in other costs, came to about $7500+ and that’s too much for us.

I’m looking at The Royal, in Riviera Maya near Playa del Carmen. We want adults-only (NO kids) and a great beach.
I’m checking out at rates with a couple of online companies and think I get teh best price with Vacation Express

That budget can get you some pretty nice resorts in the Carribbean. There are smaller all-inclusives, like El Dorado Maroma on the Mayan Riviera, and a few others I can’t think of right now. Check out applevacations.com they usually have the best prices, in my experience.

We took a cruise for our honeymoon at the end of December/beginning of January. You’ll have the whole day to yourself exploring the islands and we were able to eat by ourselves for dinner every night but 1. We went to the Caribbean and the weather was perfect, warm enough to swim but not as hot as it is in the summer.
