My FI and I are getting married January 1st 2010 in Orlando… We were going to do the Sandles thing, but a couple people we had talked to said January isn’t the best time to go. The water is too cold that you wont want to do anything, etc.
So we both said we would go there 2011 in March. But we def want to do a honeymoon and maybe just stay in the states. We thought since it’s snow season of doing a ski cabin resort thing but need ideas of where to go. FYI he has never in his life done the whole ski thing…but would still be fun. Please help with our winter honeymoon ideas… It is my honeymoon and I want it to be amazing, I dont want it to be like any other vacation. I know you all have GREAT ideas;)

Colorado would be really nice! My aunt lives there and has said the resorts are nice out there. You could also go to jamaca or some warm south country

Come to Lake Tahoe! Some of the best skiing in the entire country, plus the views are incredible. You can also rent cute little cabins if you don’t want to stay in the big resorts. 🙂

My all-time favorite skiing destination is Crested Butte, Colorado. I haven’t been in a couple of years, so maybe it’s changed, but when we used to go it was *such* a romantic little town. We stayed in this great cozy inn, would go ice skating, take sleigh rides and just generally enjoy the leftover Christmas lights. Such a sweet little place…
Aww. Now I want to go…

Being another Florida resident myself, my FH and I started planning a romantic getaway to a cabin in the mountains in NC, and then in the middle of a sea of brochures with beautiful green vistas perfect for hiking, I remembered that other parts of the country have this thing called "Winter" and it was cold and full of snow. Whoops!
We’re doing California- San Diego to be exact- because we wanted to stay in the states as well. You could also consider Las Vegas if that is your thing.
