It all depends on what you want.  Mostly beach time?  Some surfing?  Seeing nature/volcanoes/waterfalls?

I do have to say that for romance, I don't think you can beat Tabacon hot springs near Volcan Arenal.  The last time I went there was in 2004, so it might be over the top now.  But at that time it was a relaxing, not too crowded set of hot springs that cost $15 to get in.

We are also going in June! We are staying at the base of the Arenal for a few days, and Manuel Antonio for the rest of the time.

We are going to the Arenal as well for a few days. We are staying at the Nayara Arenal which they claim to be one of the most romantic hotels in the world. We plan to visit Tabacon while we are there. Then we are off to the Osa Peninusula where we will be for the majority of our time. The Osa Peninusula is considered to be the most biodiverse place on Earth. We are staying at the Lapa Rios Ecolodge. We will have our own private bungalow in the middle of the rainsforst. The lodge seems very romantic but if you are one to not care for bugs then I wouldn't suggest staying there. My FI is a conservation wildlife biologist so this is perfect for him. He is so excited about it. We are even taking a few days to volunteer with a group that works to save endangered sea turtles. After that we will go to Uvita for whale watching and are planning on staying at the Oxygen Jungle Villas.
