I've never been so idk. I thought about going and FI didn't like the idea. So sad! haha.
My favorite hotel at Disney is the Boardwalk Inn- it's a really neat hotel with a neat atmosphere where you can eat dinner and walk around before heading back up to your room.
We also like the Port Orleans Resort and Caribbean Beach Resort.
Can you tell I live in Orlando and am like tour guide barbie for friends and family that visit? :) Any other questions feel free to ask!
Thanks everyone!
Has anyone stayed at the Hilton that is located right in Disney World? (I think it's near downtown Disney) I had my heart set on staying at an actually Disney resort but then FI found this and likes the idea of staying there better. I'm trying to warm up to the idea because we would be spending a lot less money but I just can't get past wanting to stay in a Disney resort.
I love a hotel NOT on Disney grounds but nearby. The Omni Championsgate. I was there 2 years ago w/my son and it was luxurious. Awesome pool area and lazy river. Makes you forget you're mouse town! Makes you feel like you're a million miles away..then you can go to the parks and have a blast and then retreat there.
We are going to Disney for our honeymoon. We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We wanted so splurge since it was a special occasion and we both love giraffes. Plus, I've been dying to stay there ever since some friends took me there to check it out.
We are getting married at Disney and staying there for our honeymoon! We'll be staying at Port Orleans Riverside which we've heard great things about as a "moderate" priced resort. If price isn't too much of an issue, I've read amazing things about the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Deluxe resort). Plus they have Ohana's there, which has rave reviews and we are hosting our welcome dinner there! Hope this helps!
The Hilton is where my friends had their reception. It's a beautiful hotel and alot of hotels near disney will be less expensive but still have the access to Disney by buses and such.
The Venetian is nice. Also, Downtown Disney actually isn't that close to the Disney parks. You still have a small drive to get over to them.
Unfortunately, we've never had the opportunity (i.e. money) to stay, but we visited the Beach Club for a day, and it was beautiful and the pool was CRAZY! It has a sandy bottom! We're from coastal Maine, and the resort reminded us of home! Calming seaside colors, and rustic beachy touches. Loved it!
Boardwalk villas! They are beautiful. You can get right to the boardwalk with all the shops/restaurants.
I've also stayed at the Polynesian, but I liked the villas better. There are a lot of kids that are there, depending on the time that you will be there becuase of the "beach".
But really if you can stay on the property, there isn't a bad resort.
i just stayed at that Hilton, actually. It was nice, but I wouldn't really recommend it over some of the nicer Disney resorts (grand floridian, beach club, etc) or some NICE ones off property. I liked the hotel, they were friendly and great, but they did all of the things that urban hiltons do (like charge for parking, etc) but don't follow all of the rules of hiltons, b/c they're on disney property.

FI and I are thinking of going to Disney World for our honeymoon. Any suggestions on which resort to stay in?
