We went to Moorea and Bora Bora at the end of October and it was great! October is the end of high season and November is the beginning of the low season so we were able to get a great deal on the flight and hotel package, but the weather was still perfect.
My brother got married during this past October and he went to Sandals in St.Lucia. They loved it and had perfect weather.
Aruba!!! it was amazing and beautiful when we went there last October. It is further south, so does not tend to be hit bu hurricanes, so it's safe. Any of the ABC islands are usually safe because of how far south in the caribbean they are. (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao) We have been to Aruba and Bonaire in October/november and they were both AMAZING!!! Weather was perfect, beaches were incredible and people were fantastic!! We are also getting married in October, and had we not already been there, that's where we would be heading. Instead, we are going to French Polynesia. Good luck!!!
The Pacific coast of Mexico is lovely that time of the year: Baja, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Puerto Vallerta, etc.
I'm getting married in October and we're doing Sandals St. Lucia-- what's great about Sandals is that you do have some crummy weather, they replace the days! But I think in St. Lucia you miss the hurricane same with Aruba-- I went in late August/Early Sept. right in the smack middle and they never get caught in hurricanes-- they just don't have as many all inclusive options. HAVE FUN!
I think Bermuda is also out of the hurricane area...
We went to Sandals in St Lucia in November (even though we got married in October) and had nearly perfect weather. They so rarely get hurricanes because it is so far south and the mountains on the island really shred any storm to pieces. It was such a beautiful island!
We're doing a two week California honeymoon. Starting in San Diego and then driving up the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco and on to Napa. My fiance is not a huge fan of sitting on a beach all day but we both love road trips, sunny weather, great food and great wine. So yeah...we're pretty excited!
You girls are great! I really wanted st lucia which is funny that a few on you mentioned it! I was just concerned about the hurricanes. How much are all inclusive packages in st lucia?

i'm only familiar with Sandals pricing and it depends on the type of room you decide to book. Also, they are constantly running sales...we booked our honeymoon at the Sandals Regency when they were having a 65% off sale. Check out the Sandals website. When we booked during the sale, the rates were anywhere between $2000 - 4500 depending on the room
what about september?? for hurricane weather? we wanted to do the carribbean... but are leaning toward hawaii as well!
It sounds like this is a bit different from the vacation that you're looking for, but Canada in October can be really beautiful - Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Niagara on the Lake are really fun cities and the weather is usually still fairly warm, while the trees are gorgeous as they start to change colors! but it's not a relax on the beach vacation - though it can be relax in a cafe by the lake kind!
At this point we're planning on Jamaica and crossing our fingers the weather will be ok. From everything we've heard and from talking to people who have gone around Oct. if there is rain it comes and goes quickly!
i want a beach vacation for sure, I think i am down to Hawaii or St Lucia. I hate flying but I recently survived the 9 hour flight to Paris and back so I should be able to fly anywhere now
We are taking a late October cruise to western carribean with Carnival Cruiselines. Hopefully the weather is good!!!
We went to Hawaii! We too were worried about hurricanes so that's why we chose Hawaii.
Hawaii was great. I highly recommend Honolulu for a couple nights and then Maui for a week or so. I heard Kauai is great too. In fact, my husband and I would love to go back to see all the other islands. If you need more info feel free to contact me.
We are going to El Dorado Royale in Rivera Maya Mexico! Gourmet All- Inclusive with seperate Casitas connected by a lazy river to a swim up bar! Not a buffet type place but acutal sit down resturants. Its a Karisma resort. Hurricanes? Maybe, but thats OK, have to take some risk.
We got plane tix with our miles too!
:)
Can't wait!
Holy crap! I don't know why I never looked into Sandals before but I think you ladies might have just saved me a fortune and grief of planning! Seriously, I should have just checked! Thank you ... seriously, thank you!
My husband and i went o Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica on October 25, 2008, and we loved it!.. The weather was beautiful and warm. We had only one day where it raine d a bit in the morning but by afternoon it was beautiful again. The nice thing about Sandals is it has a hurricane guarentee if you rworried. Hope this helps

Where should we go in October? I am afraid to go to the carribbean since it is the tail end of hurricane season. We are thinking Hawaii...anyone been to Hawaii in October?? Also, where have you gone in October and had either great weather or horrible weather?
