@AnnaCruz: There is Islands of Adventure in the Universal area which I think is so much more fun than Disney.  It's got amazing roller coaster rides and then at night you can pay $14 and get into all the clubs and bars at Universal CityWalk.  Go to the Karaoke bar, it's so much fun to watch karaoke with a live band and backup singers!  The Red Coconut Bar is really nice too.  And there are lots of nice restaurants to eat at like Margaritaville and Bob Marley's.  If you can stay onsite at one of the area hotels you never have to drive anywhere! My personal favorite place to stay is the Portofino Bay Hotel.  It's definitely the classiest of the 3 hotels on site but you also have the Hardrock hotel and a hawaiian themed Royal Pacific hotel. Any of these and you get a free boatride to the center of all the action.

Wonderworks is always fun ..... it's an upsidedown building with tons of hands-on "fun" stuff inside.   http://www.wonderworksonline.com/html/

@missblueshoes: I wanted to go there so bad when DH and I were on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we ran out of time!

We were there for 10 days and decided to skip out on Disneyworld since we were just there less than a year ago. We went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure for 4 days and had an absolute BLAST. We also visited seaworld and Discovery Cove. Discovery cove was nice, but a bit of a rip off IMO. We have been snorkling in Mexico and swimming with the dolphins there, and it does not compare at all..so wouldn't do that again! Seaworld was fun, but I find it is pretty run down. If we could plan it all again, we would just do Universal and Islands of Adventure and Disney!

We also vistited Orlando Prime Outlet Mall which was great for me! I would highly suggest renting a car. Taking a taxi everywhere is SO expensive, and the little train that goes down international drive, etc. takes FOREVER and sometimes it is full and will skip by you at night..then you are stuck paying for a taxi anyway.

Have a blast, we just love Orlando!

I live in Orlando! PM me if you want any restaurant suggestions. What area are you staying in?

I 2nd that Island's of Adventure is super fun! But I wouldn't rule out the magic kingdom and def. Epcot. Epcot is my favorite disney park! Downtown Disney is a fun place to go at night. Cirque du Soliel is there ( highly recommend buying tickets! It's awesome and worht the $!) and there are tons of restaurants and little shops. City Walk is also fun with lots of restaurants options.

If you want to go somewhere for drinks and enterntainment I would recommend Howl at the Moon. It's a dualing paino bar! It's on I-Drive.

If you want to splurge one night on food I would recommend California Grill. It's all glass on top of the Contemporary hotel. You can see all of Disney! Also if you stay there until the fireworks go off you can stand of their balcony and they place music that goes with the fireworks. It's breathtaking!

Feel free to ask me anything!

I too am going on my honeymoon to Orlando. Spending the week at a timeshare near Disneyland... would love to hear some ideas too!  Will definitely hit up Epcot and really want to hit the coast, Daytona Beach and Cape Canaveral (to feed my inner geek).

If you can rent a car and can go to area attractions instead of just downtown orlando, do it. It's worth the money.
