We haven’t really started thinking about our honeymoon yet , but I would like to know where Sept brides went for their honeymoons? What is the best place to go to and how safe is it when it comes to hurricane weather and such?
We cant afford going to europe , but thinking of some islands or maybe mexico.

@Ka393: we went to Mexico at the end of September to the Riviera Maya and for the most part loved it. There were a couple days where it stormed in the afternoon but the last few days were really nice!

We went to the Sandals resort in the Bahamas right after our wedding – 9/13 – 9/20. On three days, it rained for about 30 minutes – no one even bothered getting out of the pool. And on two days, it was so windy that scuba/snorkeling were cancelled. As our honeymoon was getting closer, I was actually more worried about the oil spill rather than hurricanes. Fortunately, neither one affected our fantastically awesome vacation.

Hurricane season runs June to November. That’s half the year! I usually recommend that if there is somewhere that you’ve always wanted to go, don’t make a decision based on fear. Book it, hope for the best, and get the trip insurance in case something goes wrong.
Aruba sits outside the hurricane belt, and has great beaches.
I am a huge fan of Mexico, ( as you can probably tell from my posts) and go every chance that I get! I think when you compare it to some of the other destinations, it’s a really great value, easy to get to, and the service is fantastic. Of course hurricanes are always a concern. But again, I would encourage you to book the place you’ve been dreaming of and hope for the best.

TiKaye.com My sister went there and it looks awesome, I am dying to go, she got married Sept 10th, but St. Lucia tends to not be a big hurricane path, so it was worth the minimal risk.

We went to Belize and it was AMAZING. Here’s my thread about it. There was a tropical storm on the second last day, but it really wasn’t a big deal to say the least. It was windy in the morning, we took some fun photos, watched a movie and by the afternoon we were swimmimg again!

We spent a week in Napa and a couple of days in San Francisco! We had perfect weather and a very relaxing trip. Highly reccomend!

We went to Hawaii (Kauai), which is perfect in September, but not cheap.
We got married in Northern California, which I think would make an AMAZING honeymoon – Big Sur, Carmel, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Napa, Mendecino, Yosemite if you had time… Awesome.

Any of the ABC islands will be your best bet for hurricane season!!!

We went to Puerto Vallarta Mexico at the end of September – it was a little stormy two of the nights, but gorgeous during the day – it’s the end of the rainy season in western Mexico, so you can get great deals on http://www.cheapcaribbean.com!

We went to St. Lucia at the end of September for our honeymoon and loved it. We bought he trip insurance which made us feel comfortable booking 9 months in advance. Aside from hurricane season it is rainy season in the Carribean but no one mentioned that. We got some rain but it was mostly summer rain that passed quickly and didn’t interupt anything. Only one of our 10 days was rainy enough to keep us out of the pool but it was the first day and we were happy to spend time in the hot tub and take a long nap in our room.

@missfireslayer: Can you tell me how windy it was when you were there? And how humid. I am actually looking to get married there Spt 28, and am really nervous about bad hair 🙂 Thanks!
