We stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres and it was amazing. We got the rooftop pool suite, which isn’t necessary but it was fun. The food and drinks were great too, would definitely recommend. With flights and transfers, etc it was $4K for the rooftop pool suite for a week. We did an excursion to Chitzen Itza, a cenote and snorkling which were all fun. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii but haven’t made it there yet (granted I’m only 21), but we just booked a trip to Cabo in January which I’m super excited about and is costing under $2K for flights and hotel All inclusive for 6 days.

The virgin islands are easily accessible and have gorgeous beaches, snorkeling, etc.

We’re looking at St Thomas! I’d really like to go somewhere beachy, but without the passport drama, so this is perfect for us. My future SIL stayed at Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott in St Thomas last year and loved it.

i really liked Turks & Caicos. Not really in the Caribbean but the beaches were fantastic; food – out of this world! But for our honeymoon we’re gong to Hawaii. we’re renting a house instead of staying at a hotel (as i like the option of cooking and feeling more ‘homey’ instead of more of a tourist). plus we’re staying there for 3 weeks. not to sure if i helped you but i guess it depends on your budget and what you want to do for your honeymoon – more active, beachy, night life etc – that’s how i ususally decide any trip i want to go on.

We’re going to St. Martin and staying on the French side. We’re planning to rent a car and explore both sides. St Martin is supposed to have some of the best cuisine in the Caribbean.

Monk6552:  we stayed on grand turk – osprey beach hotel. we stayed there for the diving. the big name resorts were on Providenciales or Provo. we flew over that island to get to grand turk and it was just SOOOOO stunning. it was nice where we stayed as it was totally quiet and because it wasn’t busy during that time – we actually had the beach to ourselves 90% of the time. we totally got pampered and it was so relaxing. just a word of advice however, watch out of the type of resort you stay at. i find the more smaller, family owned places treat you like GOLD. they treat you really like family. they get to know you one-on-one and any requests you have they do their damnest to make it happen. the bigger name resorts – the ones that look like a beehive (thats what i attribute them too) sure there’s more to DO but you’re just a face and you dont get that personal touch that i love. i’ve stayed at both types of hotels/resorts and i prefer the smaller versions. but again – it all depends on the experience you want to have! good luck 🙂

Monk6552:  We’re going to Mexico. We’ve been 3 times before and decided to stick with a ‘safe’ option. I also like that we’ve done most things there so it will just be a relaxing trip, which is what we wanted – if we’d gone somewhere new we’d have been wanting to go sight-seeing, which is great, and we enjoy it, it just isn’t what we want for our honeymoon.

Previously in Mexico we’ve stayed at the Excellence Riviera Cancun, the Valentin Imperial Maya, and the Royal Playa del Carmen. This time we’re spending 10 nights in a penthouse suite with private roof-rop jacuzzi at the Gran Bahia Principe Sian Kaan, and then 7 nights in a swim-out suite at the Excellence Playa Mujeres. The trip is costing £3900/$6240 for the two of us Inc return flights direct from London UK, and private transfers throughout (airport to Bahia Principe; Bahia Principe to Excellence; Excellence to airport). Both hotels are adult only all inclusives.

If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous and off the beaten path, I highly recommend Belize! We did a few nights in the jungle and a few on the beach, and it was awesome.

Monk6552:  I didn’t go to the Caribbean for my honeymoon, but I really loved Antigua when I went there. We did this excursion called “Antigua Paddles” http://www.antiguapaddles.com and it was amazing. It’s run by this lovely British couple and the whole day was wonderful! It’s so pretty there and the people are really nice.

Monk6552:  Not where you are wanting but we are going to Disney World and are specifically spending quite a bit of time at Epcot to “visit multiple countries” lol
