Hello fellow bees!
My Fiance and I are contemplating where to go for our honeymoon. Any suggestions? We dont have a lot of money to spend but we have been leaning towards Jamaica. I have talked to a few people at the bridal shows in my area and the good news is they all have payment plans and know that it we want all inclusive. We are very active and want to hike to awesome places, check out lagoons, waterfalls, zipline, snorkle -& open to other water sports, definately want a beach for some r&r and anything adventrous. He cant just sit on a beach and be lazy, and neither can I but at one point or another we will run out of steam so Im sure that will come into play lol Ive only been to Cozumel, and it was fun with snorkleing but that was basically it. We definately want to stay away from Mexico- A friend of mine just got married and went there, she said it has gotten pretty scary. Does anyone have a lot of travel experience that has any suggestions? Were all ears-
the undertraveled bride. 😉

If you’re looking for a place that better suits an active lifestyle, check out costa rica. They have all the things you described (plus rainforests!) and are great for outdoorsy types. Jamacia is more of a “relax on the beach and drink a pina colada” kind of vacation.

@Honeysuckle Love: idk why she thinks mexico is scary; as long as you go to an all inclusive and are on a resort, it’s fine.
jamaica is also scary if you leave the resort, so…idk.
we went to jamaica last month & it was really nice, but we didn’t stay at an all inclusive place so i don’t really have recommendations there. We also went to Punta Cana a few years ago and stayed at the majestic elegance, which was awesome

How much is your budget? If you google honeymoons under 2k it comes up with a good list! Some of our friends stayed at Sandals La Toc in St. Lucia and loved it! It’s one of the all inclusives under 2k. We have been to St. Lucia and loved it!

@HisWifey: My fiance thought about staying at a Sandals in St. Lucia but it was like almost 10K for what we wanted! What were your options at 2k?

we’re going to mexico, we go every year abd even venture out to the parks, etc. never had a problem. just depends on where you go i guess. we go to the same chain usually thruough cancun, cozumel and puerto vallarta and always get upgraded and the staff is so helpful and attentive. at $2500 all inclusive: air travel, food and booze, it was hard for us to pass up. we’re adding a dinner cruise, a chitchenitza tour some snorkeling and wave runners or something to change it up… but yeah, it’s the biggest bang for your buck. I hear costa rica isnt too bad, but there might be bugs and they arent as accomodating bc everything is so spread out-but again, I think it depends on where you go.
