We’re planning on an Eastern Mediterranean cruise in/around May 2014, as it will give us more-than-ample time to save for it and it’s supposedly the best time of year for a trip in that part of the world.
We’re looking at the Holland America 11-day Ancient Mysteries itinerary (http://www.hollandamerica.com/find-cruise-vacation/CruiseDetails.action), which initially had a May 2014 embarkation date — but it’s now pushed back to late April 2014. Wondering why this happened, unless the date we were thinking about has sold out already (seriously?). And when we looked a few months ago, the Verandah stateroom prices were considerably less than they are now. Why the huge hike?
Has anyone cruised this itinerary or a similar itinerary before? How far in advance should we book? We’re estimating around $8K for the trip, including flights/spending money. Would that be enough?
Thank you all!
