Have you considered a cruise?  We did a cruise and with the alcoholic bev package it was essentially like an all-inclusive…just on a huge boat!    DH and I loved it, we thought it was a great honeymooning experience.  Just a thought.

sjschuller:  $2500 with plane tickets?  That’s not much for an AI resort.

I agree with PP to look at cruises.  For my first honeymoon we were able to take a 7 day Southern Caribbean out of Port Canaveral for $600 per person.  Not sure if you can get a similar deal in July though since it’s the high season (and balls hot/humid.)  This time around we opted to wait an extra year so we could save up enough money for two weeks in Europe which we just booked our flights for right after our first anniversary.

If the $2500 is just for the stay then I recommend checking out http://www.resortvacationstogo.com/All-Inclusive_Resorts.html for deals on AI resorts.  I’ve been to the ME by Melia in Cancun and it was a beautiful resort on an amazing sugar white sand beach.

While this isn’t all inclusive, my DH and I stayed for a week at the Sheraton Nassau resort and loved it…more so than the Sandals we stayed at for our honeymoon (which we loved as well).  It’s no longer a Sheraton property (owned now by Malia I think).  Anyhow, I recently priced out a week for my bro and his FI for their honeymoon (in august) and it was right around $1600’ish for flights & hotel.  There are a ton of places to eat that are affordable.  Feel free to PM me if you want more details.  🙂

Mexico would be your best bet. I was able to go on vacation there a few years back for $2200 for a 3 star resort. The food was great and the service wonderful. It was perfect! Good luck!

We are going to St Kitts.  Not all inclusive but we don’t drink enough to make it worth it.

sjschuller:  I second a cruise! It is GREAT budget wise and I have always had a blast.

The east coast sailing to carribean and jamaica etc. are really cheap sometimes – like ridiculous! (like 5 days under $350!) But West Coast can have great deals too (i sailed a 9 day to mexico for under $700!)

Now remember these prices include your room, food (buffet, restaurant and room service) and on-board entertainment. Alcohol is not included, so depending on how much you drink will affect your total price. The entertainment on board is amazing! Wonderful singers and dancers, comedians and even a hynotist was on my last! There is a small mall, casino, lounges, live music, dance clubs etc. Or you can just lounge around by the pool.

Usually the ports have great tourist activities such as swimming with dolphins or taking a tour.
