My fiance and I are having the hardest time choosing a honeymoon destination that has all inclusive adults only resort(s). Although beautiful we’re not interested in going to Jamaica, DR, or PR and from what I’ve read those destinations have the most choices for AI resorts. So that’s one of our problems.
We looked into St. Lucia and Antigua which looked good at first and we were actually just about to book Sandals Halcoyn St. Lucia when I started to read some more in depth reviews and there were alot of negative ones.
So now we’re at a loss…
Any recommendationsn would be appreciated. We were hoping to stay under $5000 for about 9-10 nights and would love a resort that is short drive to the airport.

Are you considering Mexico at all? We stayed at the Excellence Riviera Cancun (actually not in Cancun but just south in the Riveria Maya area) a few years ago and it was great. It’s adults only. They also have a location in Playa Mujeres which gets good reviews as well.

we are staying at the catalonia royal tulum adults only, all inclusive. it’s in cancun, which i know sounds all “dude, cancun!” but supposedly it’s more on the quiet side as far as resorts go. we didn’t want a party atmosphere. i would be perfectly happy laying in a hammock 24/7. reviews were good and prices were better than sandals. has 24 hour room service which was a definite perk. the cheaper sandals resorts/rooms don’t have the 24 hour butler/concierge service. bummer.

Have you checked out Costa Rica? One of my bridesmaids honeymooned there last year and had a blast. I was checking it out myself for our honeymoon and they have some all-inclusives in the Guanacaste area. Try cheapcaribbean.com if you haven’t looked there yet. You can get great all-inclusive rates (including airfare) for tons of different places.

Thank you for all of the great recommendations! I never thought of Costa Rica. I’m going to look into that and some of the others.

Sandals is opening a new resort in Grenada soon and it looks so AMAZING.
One of my favorite places/resorts is Secrets Vallarta Bay in Puerto Vallarta. Probably my favorite destination in Mexico. But the downside is that because it’s on the pacific ocean, there’s no pretty blue water. BUT amazingly stunning sunsets. I loved the service there and would totally go back for our honeymoon but FI wants to go some place new.
Also, I hear great things about Barbados, and there’s definitely a few AI resorts there.

My mom is a travel agent that specializes in all inclusives. She’s toured almost every island and their all inclusives and highly recommends Mexico (Cancun/Riviera Maya/Playa Del Carmen area.
Her fave resorts are the Secrets (which we booked for ours – Maroma Beach), Excellence, and The Royal.
If you look at Costa Rica, look at the new Riu. The pacific side is the safer area of that island so be careful about where you book.
If you want to see a comparison of a bunch of Mexican resorts check out the pictures here:
She created individual albums for a lot of the places she’s toured.

@Beachy0404: Visit allinclusiveoutlet.com :)! They have great prices, rank the hotels for you (plus you can always find one that looks decent and use tripadvisor) and they literally have lists of them with upfront prices, it makes it SO easy. I booked our honeymoon to Jamaica through them and they’ve been very helpful!
