Yes, I would say call it a honeymoon shower. I think people can still get fun/exciting gifts for them even if they just registered for a trip and activities on a trip. You could get them a set of matching monogrammed beach towels. You could do bath robes for each of them with fuzzy slippers. You could do a really cute beach tote bag and fill it with stuff for their cruise such as a disposable camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, maybe a little fold up Fodors guide to whatever country/ies they're going to, etc. You could buy them a nice set of luggage or personalized luggage tags or passport holders. You could still do some lingerie/sexy stuff as well! I think this type of shower could be really fun and people could be very creative with their gifts. If the cruise registry is all they have then I dont see a reason that people cant branch out a little bit and get them fun and useful stuff for their honeymoon!
We had a honeymoon shower and it was SO much fun! AND we got a ton of gifts toward our honeymoon registry which really helped with the cost! We had a theme of our destination - all the food and decorations were in the theme of that country. We mostly got cards with certificates about what people had bought us on our registry, but we also got a few items - beach towels, sexy lingerie, books to read on the honeymoon, etc etc. It was SO much fun!
Yeah a honeymoon shower! Make it items for the theme of the honeymoon. I agree, cool beach towels or things they can use on their trip (somebody can buy them a Kama Sutra as a not-so-gag gift, LOL....we got one! I couldn't stop laughing), lingerie or nighties (it's hot down there! nighties are awesome!), aluminum bottles (for your beverages--no bugs get in that way and they stay cold), maybe a personalized beach tote to take with them. i think a Borders gift cert would be awesome! I read through 3 books on our HM.
I'd definitely call it a honeymoon shower, and I'd probably also be sure to mention the point of the shower when the guests RSVP. I don't know that there can't be gifts as well though. Some people may opt to pay for a portion of the honeymoon and buy a little gift, like 'just married' flip flops or his/hers beach towels. I think it'll work out well. Make sure you have so games in mind though. Most showers devote a lot of time to opening gifts, so if she's not doing that, you may need something else.

Help! My FDIL and son already own their own home so have decided to only register for their European cruise honeymoon on Honeyfund.com. Now my best friend and the MOH have decided to throw them a shower. How would this work? There really would not be any gifts per se to open as at typical showers, only checks or certificates saying what part of the trip would be paid for. Should we call it a "Honeymoon shower" so guests would know that the ususal household type gifts are not needed? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
