I have not been to Vietnam so I can't speak to that, but I have been to Thailand and it was an amazing trip. Once you arrive in Bangkok, you're immediately immersed in a totally different world. I can't remember the name of it, but theres a street where a lot of foreigners stay full of bars and "stuff"... I recommend staying away from there. If time it limited, I'd split it up between Bangkok and a beachy place like Krabi.
I also got the chance to go to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat, and if you have time, I'd totally recommend it. Those temples (part of where they filmed Tomb Raider) is like no other I've ever seen. The areas that the temples are spread is huge, so you'll need 2-3 full days to see it. But there's nothing else really around the town of Siem Reap except for a little market place that has a decent amount of shopping.

@pinkshoes:Thanks so much! We were thinking of doing a few days in Bangkok, a day or two in a national forest doing hiking and stuff, and then a good amount of time soaking up the sun down on Ko Phi Phi. I've heard Ankor Wat is amazing, I'm just struggling with the idea of spending so much time and money to get there when all there is to do in Siem Reap is see Ankor Wat.

My fiance and I are starting to plan our honeymoon for January 2012. We have about two and a half weeks...not much time for Southeast Asia.
Does anyone have suggestions which countries we should visit?
We don't want to be travelling every other day and i know we can not see everything in the countries so we are probably going to be limited to two or three locations. We have been thinking greatly about Thailand and possibly Vietnam but nothing is set in stone.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!
