I know it is possible. It’s just a really big vacation, right?!
I need some help ladies. We want to spend $2,000 on the hotel + airfare. I know you need to show around for airfare..but I need some ideas on where the heck to go?
No really beach people. Don’t mind it, don’t love it.
Will be traving the first week on August (HOT?)
If your honeymoon budget makes mine look like a penny, please don’t bother saying anything. Only helpful comments please!
I am truely up for any ideas that include resorts, couple only resorts, & maybe all inclusives. Budget is slightly negotiable..

Vacations are expensive right!? Good for you for staying with in a planned budget!
The first thing you have to decide is do you want a few nights of luxury or a longer trip on a tighter budget?
For location, I guess it depends on where you live but Colorado and New Mexico are gorgeous in the summer. Also places like Vancouver, Oregon, California. I know for a fact that the first week in August is Slooowww in Colorado so you can get some great rates at nice places. I LOVE the Westin in Beaver Creek. The spa is amazing and the hot tubs are salt water that over look the river.
Dont fall for that all inclusive hype. Yes its nice to just pay up front and forget it but if you do some of the work your funds will go further.
My other advice is to find a city or town neither of you have been thats a drive or cheap flight away. Google boutique hotels.
I’m really good at planning vacations so let me know what city you are departing from and maybe I can give you better ideas!

Cynthia.Renee.Biron: If you want suggestions that are of any use at all to you, you need to tell us where you are starting from. It’s a waste of your time and ours to be suggesting trips that leave from the other side of the country or world.

Think of some cities that are enticing to you, and check Kayak.com, price some flights. I’m a firm believer that fun during vacation is about who you’re with, not where you go. But yes, if you give us your location, we can help more.

I see Austin, TX in your profile, but not sure if that’s where you’d be traveling from.

If you are in Texas, what about Vancouver? Or a cruise going out from Galveston. If you’re not in Texas, I would still recommend Vancouver!

Cynthia.Renee.Biron: We live in Austin, Tx and went to New York City for 6 days on $2000! We got airfare through Southwest during a sale to Newark and stayed at an adorable flat in Brooklyn off airbnb! I also snagged a few Groupons to a few high rated restaurants to save us a bunch on fancy dinners out. Its so much fun to research great things to do and see in the city so I had the whole week planned out including stopping by the delicious Dough in Brooklyn (4 blocks away) for some out of this word donuts! Feel free to PM me if you would like!
