Helloooo! Have any bees gone on a tropical honeymoon (or vacation) in late Dec & early Jan? Our honeymoon will start Dec.29 and go until Jan 3. I’m looking for somewhere tropical, all inclusive, and HOT! I’m a Texas girl so upper 70’s is cold to me, lol. I just don’t know which tropical areas are having their “rainy” season then…. Let me know if you have any ideas! I’ve been really stressing over this-we need to book ASAP! Thank you!!! 🙂

We’re going on our honeymoon from at the end of December into early Jan and our travel agent advised us against Bermuda because of the weather. We’re headed to Jamaica instead 🙂 I suggest talking with a travel agent about your concerns.

Mr TTR and I were married over the Christmas Holidays in the Florida Keys (they were nice and toasty… warmest place in the Continental USA during January… was 80s for us)
Then we hopped a flight to the Caribbean out of Miami to San Juan. Spent a few days there, then went on a Southern Caribbean Cruise.
Our entire Honeymoon…. Keys – Miami – San Juan – and the Caribbean Islands (Barbados – St Lucia – Antigua – Sint Maarten / St Martin – St Thomas USVI – and back to San Juan, PR and the temps were in the 80s and 90s.
It was heaven.
If you are looking for good temps in December and January then the Southern Caribbean is where you want to be (or South America).
Anything above 25 North (Miami… Mexican Border) and there are no guarantees… infact if you are in any of the immediate off islands from the USA (Bermuda, Bahamas, Cuba, DR) and you could encounter a dip in the jet stream that could bring in COLD Air and drop the temps down into the 50s, 40s and in some cases the 30s (brrrr)
Go EAST and Go SOUTH is my best advice if you are looking at the Caribbean… the futher in both directions the better the temps.
Hope this helps,

Hawaii is AMAZING in January-February. Warm enough for sundresses and snorkling plus it’s peak whale season.

- Wedding: August 2013 - Rocky Mountains USA
I went to Nicaragua last January and it was HOT and perfect! Not really the all-inclusive scene though. I don’t think you could go wrong Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, Belize, etc.

@PeachPineapple: Pretty much anywhere in the Caribbean is nice in Dec/Jan. I did a pre-Christmas cruise to the Bahamas and the weather was perfect; even for a Florida native I was in my bathing suit on the beach and enjoying the sun. Of course, the further South you go, the warmer it will be that time of year. My dad and stepmom loved St. Lucia and I really enjoyed St. Maarten; either one should be nice over New Years.

I’ve been to Mexico in December and the weather was perfect! We also did a cruise last year and stopped at a few Caribbean islands, which were still insanely hot and humid. I think winter is the time to go on vacations! Our honeymoon will be February in Hawaii.

We went to Costa Rica at the beginning of December last year. The second half of the trip we spent on the pacific coast, in the Guanacaste area, and it was definitely warm. There are some AI’s in that area, although we didn’t stay at one.

While it won’t be our honeymoon, we take all of our tropical vacations in December and January. Living in the Midwest we have cold winters, so I would much rather go to a tropical place when it is cold rather than when its already 100 degree heat. The resorts aren’t as crowded, you get beter rates and the weather is beautful.
Went to the Dominican Repubic the second week in December and the weather was high 80;s beautiful.
Went to the Bahamas the first weekn in december, the weather was high 80’s low90s and it was beautiful.
We will likely go to Jamaica this year… can’t wait.

We’re taking our Honeymoon in December (12/9-12/19) to Disney World. We go to Disney in December a lot and it has normally been warmish 70’s-80’s. There was one year that had a cold snap where it was in the 60’s. We considered the Florida Keys, but there really weren’t any all inclusives. Don’t stress about booking! I’ve booked our vacations a few weeks before the trip and been okay. As long as you already have your passports you should be okay.

Costa Rica was beautiful in January! Also, we have been to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in January before and it was great too!
