Well you have to narrow it down. Do you want something European, or Asian and look at old architecture, and feel that type of culture, or do you want more of a tropical vacation? Do you want beaches, or do you want jungle, or city? What kind of weather are you two most happy in? Whats your budget look like? What about travel, do you not mind long flights, or lay overs? Because travelling to Asia can be quite tedious.Then you have to decide what works with the time of year you guys are going at. If you guys are going right after your wedding, that would be April, check what the weather is like for the places you like, and what the season there is.
Well, we actually have a really great opportunity that just got thrown in front of us if we were to go to Italy. And we're going to be going sometime that summer. My job is really hectic after the wedding, so we'll take a mini-moon and then go back to work and then take a week or two to go to Italy.
@Cash000: You hit the nail on the head! Those are the exact kinds of questions one needs to consider immediately in order to rule out certain destinations before getting down to the "nitty gritty" details of what destinations will be a good fit.
I agree with previous posters. You and your fiance should make a list of what you want to do/get out of your honeymoon. Keeping your budget in mind, find a location that fits!
We wanted beach (not necessarily tropical), surfing lessons, a different culture, a stamp on our passports, great food, and place neither of us had ever been. We are headed to Portugal!

So, I've been so caught up with the wedding, I haven't really thought about the honeymoon except for a few side conversations with FI, "where would you like to go?" "I don't know, you?" " I don't know" "Honey, what do you think of this venue?"
And we're off again. So, I just don't know how to start "planning" our honeymoon.
