So, I used this site to discuss my honeymoon plans. My fiance even bought the tickets and booked the hotels. Now, he has some work related issue and we are not going right away. My friends who are married and who went on honeymoon right away, describe it as the best thing ever. The whole feeling of being newly wed bride and being together on honeymoon after that, is just so awesome. Now, with the honeymoon being postponed, I am so down. I know I should think positive. Its just that after all that crazy planning, postponing is just upsetting me.

I am sorry that your fiance’ had a work related engagement come up that is making you post pone your honeymoon. Just rememeber to think postive thoughts. No matter when you take your honeymoon it will still be magical and full of romance.

We are gonna postpone ours until March and I’m really glad we are. Gives us more time to save up for a more fabulous honeymoon. Doesn’t add to the stress I’m already feeling right now 5 weeks from my wedding. Will be able to use any cash gifts towards paying for the honeymoon. The weather is MUCH nicer in March vs October in Costa Rica(where we are going). I no longer have to pack for my Destination Wedding in Florida AND a honeymoon. Will be able to take a longer honeymoon now cause I will be able to have more time to take off work by waiting. Gives me and my Fiance something to look forward to after all the wedding stuff wears off and we are back to real life.
Basically I could go on and on, but you get the point. My cousin and his wife also postponed their honeymoon a few months after their wedding as well and he said he was SO glad they did. He said he knows he was able to enjoy it more because they waited.

Postponing it gives you something else to look forward to after the wedding! I will have my wedding, then go directly on my honeymoon and then it’s all in the past. But you can soak in the wedding and then still have a vacation coming your way. 🙂

Our honeymoon doesn’t start until a week after the wedding so we have a whole week to settle in and get ready for our honeymoon without stressing over leaving right away, being tired etc. after the wedding. =)
ITA with the previous posters who said that it gives you something else to look forward to after the wedding!!
