@mrscheetos: Can you "reserve" a chair for him at the ceremony? Maybe put a photo of him on the chair and pin a boutonniere to it?
@mrscheetos: :( Maybe have the Fatiha read on his behalf and an uncle just speak very briefly of how proud they are of FI, etc.
I like the reserved chair idea as well.
@KatNYC2011: I like this idea, Though we dont have a ceremony. Thank you
@abby_mb definitely will do the Fatiha, thank you
@mrscheetos: Hmmm, could you do something similar at his family's table at the reception?
I also second the idea of having his picture set on one of the seats on his family table. My FI's father also died when he was 10 and I would love to do something similiar for him as well for our wedding. I know your FI will appreciate it very much :) Good luck!

I need help with ideas on how to honor FIs dad at our reception, he died when FI was 2 in a terrible car accident. FI still feels hurt over it though he didn't know him much, and gets teary eyed when we talk about it. Unfortunately, they only have one picture together so the chances of making a slideshow are out. I really want FI to feel like his father is a part of our day even though he physically cant be here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
