i just posted this – but we are doing a homage to mothers while an organ solo plays of Ave Maria – the wording that the preacher will say will be:

Before we go on to say more about love, it is important to recognize from where love comes in our lives. Of course, someone first loved Bride and Groom. Someone cared for them as children, showed them what love, compassion, kindness, and care means. The work of our mothers are critical in preparing us to be the loving adults we are, so today, Bride and Groom want to make special recognition of their mothers, for making today possible. I speak for everyone here when we say “Thank You.”

we are putting a candle at each of the seats where our grandmothers are sitting and lighting the candle, and then we are taking a moment of silence with our mothers to reflect on our lost grandmothers. kind of sad, but it’s a generational thing
